Back in the day, Yodel Hidalgo was a young enterprising drag performer fresh off the streets of Los Angelii occasionally showing up in a pride parade or support rallies. When xe got tapped for a big drag show that was broadcast kicking off a pride-month focus on social activities, xe started to attract more attention from costume designers, stage production folk, and the LGBT+ community at large. Their eye for color and texture is now relied upon for students at CHS, and their big heart and open mind - and firm beliefs - help those students in need as well as local communities.

The structure that the Rainbow Revue is in is a historical landmark structure in the heart of downtown Crescent City. It has always been a theater, but had fallen into a bit of disrepair. Because it was in an area where an amount of 'slum' exists, and the inner-city (what Crescent has anyway) was considered a bit 'dangerous', the structure was both inexpensive to buy, and difficult to set up. The surrounding structures all date back to the mid-1920s, some older and a few nearby much newer. Apartments and small shops - mostly shuttered shops until more recently - dominate the area.

When Hidalgo and their dragon friends started showing up regularly however... Things started to change. At first a number of people balked at having 'that kind' of theater in 'their' part of town, but as Hidalgo and Yolanda began hiring people instead of chasing them away, the city council as well as news outlets started keeping up with the progress on the place. Renovations weren't cheap, Yodel's job at CHS however afforded them something that many others didn't have: an entire crew of eager workers in the form of at-risk kids, gender-concerned groups, and experienced instructors looking to get their students jobs in the construction or renovation industry. They all got paid, obviously, but also a decent number of those students have gone on to become business owners or good employees.

The Rainbow Revue itself has been cleaned and patched up, using as much original material as possible. The building is three stories tall and has an underground basement, and the main stage itself is quite large. Brickwork can be easily covered with the stage drapes, there are decorations and hangings and portraits from the prior eras when the theater had Vaudville on through the weekly serials on screen in the 50s, and even when it had been used as a set for a television episode of a crime drama in the 90s. But it had sat long and dusty between many of those eras. New appropriate seating was put in, including the floor which has many small tables and is framed with booths, the mezzanine is mostly theater seating, and the upper balconies have private seating and tables. A fully stocked alcohol bar as well as a small kitchen serve fine wines, good beer, mixed drinks, and plenty of snacks and finger foods.

In back of this building and taking up the rest of the city block had been a department store, also slightly crumbling and poorly maintained - but once the Revue began getting more and more attention, and more dragons... Yodel hooked up with some other people he could tap through Carramba and C4: financiers and legal experts to get the structure replaced with a parking area and local dragon housing. This building serves the entire block now, not just the Revue employees, and is 6 stories with parking that goes underground by 2 levels, all well maintained and with security teams that do, in fact, also have dragons. No one gets their car broken into here... And far from 'gentrifying' the area, Yodel has made sure to keep up on the local inhabitants. A shelter for at-risk families, fast food shops, and now even a clinic and legal-advice office are found nearby.

Never let it be said that Yodel doesn't remember their youth. If xe sees 'that look' on anyone walking by there's always a friendly smile and a free cup of coffee, did you need to rest up a little honey come on in it's air conditioned.
