Talon City Civic Services Structure

2024 and the years shortly prior have brought a great many changes to the Talon City Civil Services system. While down south in Crescent City, Carramba High has fused with the local community college to form a super-school campus, some of the same business owners and politicians that helped support that change work here out of Talon City as well.

Not to mention that Alabaster's central offices are in Talon City, and it behooves them to support their more local community in addition to the school in another city! Thus, a major overhaul of the city's base infrastructure was proposed in 2015, which... well let's say it took a while to get rolling, with protests and counterprotests and assessments and all of the red tape and striped tape and duct tape required to push past nonsense and get some real work done in a government.

All that said, Talon City has become known for its services in conjunction with its dragon activity, and it wasn't just Alabaster that did the initial work and major donations needed for designing, planning, and finally constructing the new Talon City Civil Services complex. Some unusual groups showed interest, including several that hadn't seemed to exist until the dragons started showing up - a reminder that this planet of Twoarth is still a nexus world, not merely one spot down south. Synergy-Encom, Silverknight, Penbardd Sciences, and Shaw Chemonautics all have connections to this facility as well as their work with Carramba High.

Each founding company or in some rare cases individual donators, have offices for recruitment and information in the main lobby, but no one is beholden to their efforts - this was a community project, and it remains such. The City Council and population vote for any and all changes.

The structure consists of primarily a full Medical Center, the Justice Department courtrooms, archives, and offices (not the jail, that's elsewhere), the central Exotic Response facilities including dragon and rider housing, and (within about 5 blocks) nearby training facilities for fire, emergency, draconic needs, and more. The individual police departments and localized detainment facilities are scattered around the city, but all that paperwork filters directly back here.

Each portion of the southern and hospital Spires rooftops also contain Dragon Air Traffic Control offices and transmitters.

Talon City Fire Station 108 - now largely an 'honorary' position for any fire fighters that join the ranks, the first Dragon-centric fire fighting squad house is still the center of attention in that part of town, though many of its other non-fire team members are now located at this facility more centrally.
