Panjoo Komira and Streve

Name Panjoo Komira
Gender

Bigendered (present softly masculine but definitely are capable of siring or carrying offspring!) / they/them / magical or powered preference

Homeworld World of what was once Dishonored, now the Great Beyond, a kid born while in the 'DeathLoop'
Species

Void/Loop-Tainted Human

5'7" / slender wiry build with a little softness

Dark brown skin, black short straight bowl-cut hair, and under the mask they have very dark violet-brown eyes.

Usually Panjoo's skin and clothing are covered in a fine rainbow of pigment dust, regardless of what clothing that is. Their typical outfit is shown above, though where they come from shorts would be ... difficult to manage, since it's remarkably cold up in the farthest reaches of the far-future Tyvian coastline. Panjoo wears a metallic mask of a wolf (or fox) head shape that had been commonly found around Alexis Dorsey's mansion for the Lamb party, though it's been modified a little and very carefully maintained, with red painted markings on it that 'technically speaking' are their glyph connecting it to the magic of the Void

Totem Adder, the Oooh Pretty Scales Owww That Hurt! totem. Pretty, fast, naturally slender and lithe, and will definitely bite you if you get too close.

Slab - the metal of their mask is actually an infused magical item allowing them to cause other people to become confused. Panjoo can use this several times before the energy within is drained, and it naturally regenerates over a period of about 2 minutes if it is fully drained. It can target a spot up to 25 meters away in an area of effect which is around 5 meters across in a sphere, affecting whoever or whatever is in that area, or be focused on a single being at up to 50 meters away. There is no normally-visible effect but anyone that can detect magical effects or psionic/vortal remnants can tell that something is up. The effect will cause victims to scatter away from where they started in a little bit of a panic, and then wander around without being able to focus on tasks or remember anything for about 2 minutes, then they will wander back to their starting point and not know why everyone's looking at them funny. This effect might be resisted by strong magic or psionic users, but mainly works whenever needed even on grown adults or minor mages since Panjoo doesn't usually announce that they're using it, and quietly vacates the area before anyone notices them.

Magic - with the glyphs on their mask Panjoo can actually perform Void-based magic, which flows quite well here on Twoarth thanks to the Outsider's presence. In addition to the Slab's distraction, Panjoo has developed several specific uses of 'Particulate control'. Anything under the size of, say, a d6, or is loose and grainy even if it's nearly microscopic in scale, he can sense, sense through to a limited degree, manipulate, and use as an attack of defense.
^Note that this enables a freebie Cluster as well as aiding in Skills. They are effectively 'blessed by the Outsider'; though not carrying his mark, Levi has definitely taken an interest in this one.

-Observe, simply by thinking on it, the eye-pieces in their mask will show much more than the limited view they ought. Detecting magical beings and items, glyphs or wards that are invisible to the normal eye, where magic has been performed, or triggers for effects as a gentle yellowish glow.

-Filter, by waving their hand in a kind of scoop manner, whatever small bits of pigment, dust and the like will accumulate very rapidly in the palm of their hand. Panjoo then can store this or scatter it just by throwing or carefully funneling it into a vial.

-Abrade, a scrubbing-like motion which they use to control particulate matter such as dust, grit, and rust, able to clean items of grit and grime, or focus this as a polishing agent in a small area, which can be quite painful if it's used on flesh...

-Disguise, using the particles to reflect specific colors or chemical properties, Panjoo is able to gently nudge appearances such as color and texture of clothing, fur, hair, and skin. This is usually why their clothing as well as Streve's appearance are somewhat wonky. Some folks have only seen them with gold paint-dripped shirt and red pants, others with blue and green, or colorful stripes and spots. This effect remains until the surface or garment is washed.

^Chemical Color Theory +4 (2) Mainly chemical based, Panjoo's artistic flair is based thoroughly on how chemicals interact and behave in certain conditions. This includes flames, fireworks, pigment, dye, and raw materials. Each of those things can be used for a variety of effects, if they're heated, ground up, watered down, or otherwise altered. Panjoo understands the ways light interacts with colors and pigments, but this isn't their strongest suit

^Magic Recognition And Use +4 (3) Once encouraged to locate old information, dig around in archaeological sites nearby, and unearthing some peculiar artifacts in those locations... Learning how to read the obscure scribbles, squiggles, charts, and lettering became a passion project for Panjoo. It came so quickly, not easily but at every turn they'd be able to spot 'there was a rune enscribed here' or 'this item had once been used in a ritual'. Though they're not really interested in 'doing spell magic' what Panjoo can do is well beyond merely a one-trick psionic cast, and they can definitely learn more than one magical language in time

Skills 14

^Artist At Heart +5 (2) Raised in a colorful mess of ancient and modern architecture, under the strange and watchful plastic and metal eyes of a dozen disembodied sculpted heads across the town, with masks and paint and guns and magic all lumped in together, Panjoo has an incredible eye for detail, subtle and obvious expressions of style. Everything from clothing and makeup to posturing and posing, graffiti on walls and flawlessly executed advertisements, Panjoo loves soaking it all up and turning things into their own unique output. As they're now able to learn more about history and how events of their own World as well as many others influence artistic style, Panjoo truly enjoys the interaction between art and artist

^Finders Keepers Art Supplies +3 (2) Given the fact that they can pick up random rusty crap on the ground and make it into a pristine piece of metal, or buff the dings out of a dented item and repaint it... usually Panjoo will just take it, unless they know that they're doing it for someone. This does come up a little here and there since not all 'stuff' is 'free'. It's unclear whether this is because the society that they're from was more tolerant of it, or if they just didn't punish anyone due to the fact that the Loop was only 24 hours and no one had time to get around to it. No one usually minds when Panjoo fills their vials and pockets with dust, shredded bits of confetti, or other such things, people were going to have to clean that up anyway, so it all balances out

On Their Toes +3 When the World you're in and the people you're surrounded by are all literally insane you have to stay alive somehow. Where most people in the Loop never - not even much later when Panjoo was born - realize that they are actually in the Loop and honestly believe that whatever they are doing will have no consequences, when the first few people started dying, they really ought to have learned from that. And yet - there are still as many fatalities on First Day every single time when they were growing up as the very first First Day. That is to say a lot. Keeping themselves alive is a fiddly proposition, but Panjoo has taken it to a very high bar. Knowing where to hide, how to keep your head down and your ears open, getting an idea of who is more dangerous and who to befriend - those things help and particularly help in that Post Apoc class! In emergencies as well, Panjoo can in a pinch lead others to a safe spot to ride out whatever dangerous wierdness is going on, they're used to it by now

Knacks 3 No One Recognizes Them Without Their Mask +/-3 Though all the other clues are there, the bowl cut, the soft but confident speech, and of course the colors everywhere, Panjoo is basically never seen without their mask, and when they do remove it (usually to clean or maintain it and to get clean themselves) most people have never seen their face more than once. They know that if they really needed to move 'truly unseen' among a group, they'd just leave the mask off. Their features are indistinct, gender-wise, as is their voice, so 'passing' as anyone they'd like to pass as, is possible too
Period Class / Instructor / Grade (Failing, Passing, Decent, Excellent, Superb)
1 Thriving in a Post Apocalyptic Dystopia / Aretha / Superb
2 Semi-Professional Massage Techniques / Zoeller / Passing but they really need to stop 'scrubbing'...
3 Rocks, Gems and Dirt / al-Sahra' / Excellent
4 Math, Just Math / Smith / Decent
5 Current Affairs / Talshoy / Decent
6 Colonization and Conflict (Spread of Underworld Influences) / Ai'lee / Excellent
7 Epic Poetry / Zeen / Excellent
8 Silk Screen / Phoenix / Excellent
Pets They are confused about animals, since there really aren't any live ones in the Loop, though they have seen rats
Parents? Masked and distant, but they are still proud of their young one... when they remember...
Siblings? Possibly, but since they raise kids in the Loop in a ... unique manner, it's impossible to know*
* the Loop that Panjoo comes from is actually falling apart, no longer only 24 hours repeated infinitely, when Panjoo was born it was nearly 14 months per loop, and weirdly most of the children born - and there were quite a few - grew almost contiguously, rather than repeating birth and toddler and child stages they kept growing each time until reaching a stable puberty era in their biology. Also apparently, their Loop had been going for over 80 thousand years so it was probably going to eventually break entirely

They live on campus in the magical student 'flop house' but by the time they're in their Junior year they'll be able to afford their own small apartment or even a loft for art

They're a team member of the local off-campus Iron Haiku team (not necessarily in creating it, however Panjoo does all the art and advertising for them, signage, and - what they have the most fun with - 'cutting up the words'. The Iron Haiku club takes discarded or damaged books, some singed from fires or with water damage, and would painstakingly dedicate hours and hours to snipping out each word... but that led to a bit of frustration since it took longer to do that than to actually make their haiku, and they wanted more time for the good stuff! Having Panjoo on hand means that they can just locate the books themselves, and hand them off, and the masked artist will magically shred them and sort the words into syllable order for them too!

"I can't send you back, no," the Outsider's voice still echoed like it was coming from across the ocean, even though he visibly floated nearby. "It... isn't my World, not my Void."

Panjoo chewed on that idea for a moment, and then simply asked, "why not? Why does that make a difference? I mean, I... got here right? "

Leviathan paused for a moment, black eyes slightly narrowed while thinking on this. Then, he pointed with one finger at Panjoo's pigment bowl. "If I may, I'll... put it back when we're done."

Before Panjoo's eyes, and before they could actually reply, the Outsider's magic had lifted clumps of the greyish-black base pigment into the air between them. The Outsider's finger traced a perfect line across the air. "Time... is a strange thing, particularly in our Worlds." He began gently tapping at the line of faintly sparkling pigment. "Events shape that World, any World, in specific moments." Larger clumped dots appeared on that timeline.

"Events that happen to move a person forward beyond their normal methods, such as magic might, may disrupt things, should they attempt to go back." Here he popped one of those dots, then another, then another - each of them spreading into their own cluster of lines, with dots sprinkled throughout. "Even those from my World that jumped ahead, never really returned to their own past. That is, for whatever reason, quite impossible."

He gazed at the child, seeing through the hazy lenses of the fox mask at the velvet-rich brown eyes covered by it. "Your time line is not the one I am from. As far as I can tell," Leviathan examined the lines he'd made, the dots, and said, "your World requires me to have either died or been removed as the Outsider from the Ritual Hold. On any World where I am still there, your timeline with that loop, cannot exist."

As Panjoo continued to look across the nothingness they stood in, with this barely-perceptable glimmer of mathematically precise straight lines hovering improbably between them, the Outsider took an audible breath. He gently pointed at a dot, one well away from what one might assume was 'his own' time's dot. "Your timeline, your World, and that Loop, let's say they are 'here'," he enlarged one particular dot, several steps short of the 'end' of the main line. And several steps well into its own sequence. "Even if I could affect your dimension, you could never go 'back' to it specifically. The most I could do is move you to a different timeline."

Panjoo seemed a little unsettled at that, but said nothing. They'd been too surprised at having fallen through a strangely weak spot in a wall and woken up in this place - the Void itself, the Great Beyond - to ask more than a couple questions of this mythical man. But they were still quite smart, quick on the draw to say the least. They'd been smart enough to know that those weird inscriptions on that old wall were magically-enhanced, they knew something was behind the wall.

"Then what... should I do?" The masked teenager glanced around, "I could color this place up a bit," they hinted with a grin. "Or... I... could I get... some of this?" Panjoo's hand went toward one of the slightly-juddering rocks that floated nearby.

"Well first, no you may not color the place up, the last time that happened to my Void it was nearly the end of everything," Leviathan muttered. "But yes, you should certainly take a few small stones - though I suspect also, that they played a role in your World's ... issues. Magic ran rampant, uncontrolled, before the Loop was made." Panjoo hadn't had the opportunity to do much research on history - Juliana the Archivist, the Visionary in charge of things in the Loop, had never let anyone in to her private library. But the youth trusted the Outsider, and perked up with the idea that those slightly-oily, faintly shimmering, entirely made of magic 'rocks' could be taken with!

"As for what you should do," Leviathan said with a grin that the child didn't see, concentrating so hard as they were on grabbing little flakes and small chunks of the Void Stone, "you should go to school."

The fox-masked youth paused for a moment, and had that mask's ears been able to swivel, Leviathan knew they would have been focused on him. "But - where? You don't have a school here!"

"Obviously not," Levi replied, drifting a little toward what looked like a wall with a doorway in it. It wasn't the same one Panjoo had fallen through to get here. The kid wasn't even sure where that one went, it had vanished even though the two beings hadn't moved much from that spot. "But... in fact, you should find a particular professor there, Morgan Valena. You and he have quite a lot in common, I think you'll like him."

Panjoo was about to ask 'who - what - how' but the doorway of that half-present wall presented itself opening onto...

A grassy area, well cultivated, brightly sunlit, a walkway snaking through it... buildings behind it looked quite inviting. "They will be expecting you," Levi said with a chuckle, as he magically nudged the teenager through that portal and into a much brighter, more vibrant, more fun world than they'd ever dreamed possible.

Streve

Name: Streve Filidestelgae, not steve, please. Not. Steve.
Gender: *Flexible, presents Female but often 'sounds' Male
Size/Shoulder/Length: 10' s / 50' l / 55' ws
Colors: Purple Pink Yellow; body, limbs, upper wings, and tail mainly a light dusty purple shade, striped with a mauve-pink that blocks larger on wing feathers, with point markings on face, feet, wing feathers, and tail tip in very pale creamy yellow; armor buff off-white; crest black; antlers, horns on head and forepaws, gems on shoulders and neck gold, claws silver; glowing red eyes
Features: As shown, mutt with sleek feathery fur, with Niteshan shoulder/neck gems; armored belly; four pawed legs with large claws, forepaws have added horns; two large feathered wings; wedge shaped head with horns on jaw and nose, external ears, segmented antlers, and furry crest; tail is massive and fluffy
Powers: Winged Flight, confident and proud looking in the air, Streve can soar for hours in the early morning or evening skies with dawn or dusk on her wings camouflaging any notice from below. Wispy clouds, or is it that armored belly?
Teleportation local, long-distance, Nexus, easily able to blip between vastly different realms, and with a good memory for specific locations, Streve may visit a great number of worlds and return to them unerringly. Local teleport is quick and shimmery, almost looking like a cartoon 'poof and they're gone' effect. Long distances up to 50 miles in a jaunt can be repeated several times in a row before she needs to rest up, but other forms of movement don't tire her particularly much
Shadow Magic and Movement, in addition to teleportation, Streve can conceal and reveal things in broad daylight, not just in darkness behind items or objects. If there is a naturally-occurring shadow however, she can slip in and out of it, mainly while in bipedal form. (Mostly because she's quite large and most shadows are anything but.) Within about 20 meters of herself however, she can also alter the way light bends around things, casting eerie blots over things that need to be ignored. This is equal parts visible magic and mental hand-waving, allowing Panjoo to work their own magic particularly for quick changes and effects during performances*
Telepathy, Verbal Speech, Echolocation Burst; Typically Streve will speak with her bond mentally, with what they call a 'colorful dust' to their mental texture. Verbally however, she can have a very wide range of vocalization and pitch changes, singing in several octaves at once, for instance, and then ending with a burst of ultra-high or even ultra-low frequency sound that pings various beings differently
Avengaean Functional Magic, with a focus on telekinetic energy and heat control, though this is minor and only really aids in moving pigments or particles around toward Panjoo's sphere of influence. However she can produce larger amounts of fire or heat in an area if needed, outdoors only please...
Specialized Shapeshifting - where many in her family might shift from four legs to two, Streve has also made internalized changes to their anatomy once they met Panjoo. 'You can do that?' yup, and now you can too! (Look, they have a disproportionate number of grandmothers!) With this in mind, they don't have to have a male donor or partner, for their offspring if and when there is a desirable moment for it
Parentage: below
Origin: Phe's Chaos Redux; Other Art- Biped from Pastelkatto's Dragon Girl Maker (flashpoint used)
Other Info: *Performances for the pair are in Panjoo's Junior and Senior years, for stage hand use
