Bond: Zena Shadowend, Voluntary bond
Meeting Notes: She'd led the group of five witches for a short time, but they had uphill work: finding a safe place to reside, to set down roots and begin founding their traditions and coven proper. They were tired, still young but definitely not as exuberant as they could be. They would pack up, set down, march around the landscape in endless search for just the right place. It was supposed to call to them, wasn't it? Their place? It had yet to do so, maybe they still needed to wander. To the hills, into the mountains, follow a river, stay clear of that marsh, was that a beach? They'd seen a lot, but nothing was right.

When they were somehow summoned into this place, the wide semi-natural pale rock cavern, they all knew it was magical. But it was more than that. Artistically placed glowing plants, some of them moving slightly and bobbing down into themselves like a snail's eye as they passed, but returning to cast a pale yellow-green light, other plants had speckles of purple, others still glowed softly blue or violet. It was very pretty, it was relaxing, at the same time slightly confusing.

Where exactly were they? It was supposed to be a party, and they'd arrived reasonably early it appeared. There were dragons, a pair of them walked side by side rumbling to one another as if it was nothing, heading into a much brighter corridor. Small dragonets scampered around, dapper little creatures, black and white and chrome with what looked like bow ties, all finding places for humans and dragons alike. There was the coat check, here was the money exchange if you needed one, oh yes there's a casino don't spend it all in one place! Her coven stood wide-eyed and a little bit open-mouthed as they entered the ballroom. The gods certainly had given them a gift, in passing along the invitation to the coven.

More dragons stood on a broad semi-circular stage, one was trilling high while another pounded his tail on the floor and shook the rafters. "I'm going to find us a table," Silvaria proclaimed, and the others followed her beckoning arm.

All but Zena. Something nagged at her, she'd seen something in the corner of her eye and indicated that she would catch up. Was it this casino? Or ... no, it was definitely not a casino. She'd smelled something too, a little sharp, but not entirely unpleasant. At the last left turn she took, a white door stood slightly open. Wooden door, simple but not plain, painted or perhaps just made of white material. Beyond it, a comfortable room. She couldn't see the ceiling, it was either smoky or misty or maybe there wasn't one. All three were true. A comfortable looking chair with foot rests built in, like a barber's chair, was the only furniture in there, and she decided why not - why not. Sitting in it she was suddenly aware that the room was very much alive with magic.

She felt but couldn't see what must have been hands, gentle but determined. Her cloak was moved, it would be too warm to keep wearing it all night anyway but she would have to retrieve it. Her left arm prepared, and ... she heard buzzing distantly, scraping of stone, and a distinct but incomprehensible chant. She was determined not to wince or whine, but there was a needle or a stick or perhaps a claw dipped in ink that was drawing itself over the ball of her shoulder. It hurt but not so much that she needed to cry out. She'd felt worse, by far, that one time she slid down an embankment into a cactus...

Soon enough it was over. Her arm ached a little, she had no idea how long she'd been there, it wasn't a very large tattoo but it was still half way down her upper arm at least. Zena looked it over before it was soothed with gel and gently covered with ... what was this thin clear material? It wasn't cloth... It was a white shape, with some amount of black decorating the sides - broad at the base with a slender mid part, rising to what appeared to be a ... a crown? With a perfectly white circle above it. A chess queen?

Suddenly quite hungry, Zena hung her cloak over her other arm, and went off to find her friends. They would probably ask about it, but she had no idea what to tell them - why would she have just run off and gotten a tattoo?

***

Midnight was approaching, and the party was absolutely amazing. Her sisters had found dragons, or perhaps the dragons had found them. Something was nagging Zena though, where was hers? Well, maybe she'd failed to find them a home - but...

You have not failed to find me, a voice whispered. And I know where to look for your home. You will always be able to find it. It is right there.

Her arm stung, she remembered the pain of someone smacking her skin when she'd gotten sunburnt - it wasn't unlike that, but it was like something smacked her from the inside out.

It would be the brilliantly shining feather-winged dragon who stood, slightly wobbly, before her. While not fully grown, this dragon proudly stood on paw padded feet, adjusting her wings. Black tipped, black underneath, but everything else about her was just fantastically shiny white. "I can make my paradise in you, your magic sustained me there long enough to grow." Zena's eyes bugged a bit, and her friends followed suit. "Do you see how that stage exists but does not exist?" The dragon nosed toward that big performance area, and they'd all seen how behind the curtains there was... much more than the sea floor that you could actually say was 'there'. "Here but not here, a place without space."

"But it's your... I mean, this tattoo is ... you?"

"And you," the dragon said. "And it can be them too, they have strong enough magic to help sustain a place fit for a coven like that."

So... they had found dragons, and the dragon... had helped them find their new home?

Bond: Avalon Bloodworth, Voluntary Bond
Meeting Notes: The coven was small but strong, and Avalon could tell it would only get stronger tonight. At 3 hours until the midnight bell, Avalon felt a strange tugging. She knew it was magic at work, of course, so she followed the pull. It turned out, there was a slender white-furred cheetah woman, one with a blinding magical aura, trying to get her attention. One or two others were following her, so Avalon knew this was something special. They were taken into one of the hatching chambers, sort of a switch from the others who had decided to walk straight across the big dance floor to show off!

But these dragons - oh they should have been shown off! And they would be, of course, but only after their special and private bonds were made. The mother of this clutch, a mottled marble white, gave a sing-song call, while her dark as night mate rumbled along, perhaps helping the hatchlings with their emergence and choice making. She'd read about how Pernese dragons liked to sing their eggs open, so... the female was Pernese? But their sire was definitely a scaled and armored sort. Avalon gazed at his wings - they were... moving, the star patterns on them were definitely shimmering and dancing on their own.

Mine will do that too, some day, a voice came into Avalon's mind. It startled her, tearing her eyes away from the sire of the clutch, onto... You see? I already know how to do it! The dragonet proclaimed very proudly. As he should! Because the brilliant white and black dragon's void-dark wings danced with far off specks of light: stars, real ones, Avalon was certain of it.

"Do... you want to stay with me?" Ava said, weaker than she expected. This was so surprising.

Of course I do, that is why I chose you! I think you will have good things to teach me, too.

Bond: Silvaria Whisper, Voluntary Bond
Meeting Notes: It was getting quite late, the clock on the wall over the stage ticked nearly to midnight when it looked like yet another batch of dragons were finally on their way out of their special little nook. Others had already found their dragons, it would kind of figure that she of all of them had to wait. Or maybe just - not.

"Don't be like that," a smooth voice said nearby, "we were late, almost too late to the party."

The silver color of that dragon was blinding, so metallic, so pretty!

"I will choose you, there are many who might want to be seen with me, but I want to be seen with you, Silvaria. I am Xenuca, I am yours. The light of the moon will power us."

So far under the sea, moonlight was difficult to come by - maybe that was why the Moonshield group was a little late?

"There are many moons," the dragon seemed to grin, pressing up against her side and nibbling at the cheese cracker in Silvaria's hand - not really finding it to her liking. They met up with the others before the last bell, before the celebration culminated. It was odd, Zena hadn't looked like she had found a dragon either until just that moment?

Bond: Indigo Lovelace
Meeting Notes: These were huge dragons, Indigo breathed in slowly, glancing at the clock: two hours until midnight. The dragonets glanced around, as they walked out of one of the bigger archways sequestering the hatchling dragons from full view. Their parents both were quite large, even the small mother. They were spiky and sharp, but both of them also friendly and reasonably gregarious.

There were other spiky dragons present, but... They definitely were neither friendly nor approachable, not by people anyway.

The little hatchlings - if you could call these long tailed creatures 'little' - wove their way around the venue like silk ribbons. It looked like some of them were trying to be more serious and important than others, a couple just obviously enjoying themselves among a crowd of people. Indigo watched each one with interest: their claws could actually do damage to the marble floor, what might they be good for outside? Clawing easily through rock or wood, certainly!

A grey wing moved in front of Indigo, but she could have sworn that she saw the night sky shimmering, as though nearly dawn, or just after sunset. She recognized those star patterns, somehow.

Are they good? I think they're good, the mind was chill but smooth, like ice under the moon. He altered his pose, the dragon moved his other wing to show Indigo, do you think it's weird that they're dark on top and light underneath? The stars are the same, though... Your stars! We can hunt under them, when you show me the real thing.

Stunned for a moment, Indigo nodded, "I agree, and yes, they... they are the same, I can remember their names and the patterns they make. How did..."

The dragonet merely gave a twisting posture, one which Indigo would learn how to interpret at a distance. Baqli'nye introduced himself to the others, at the end of the evening.

Parents: Donor clutch Kelirith + Baniar'Alkar
Bond: Lux Willow, Impressed, Multibond
Meeting Notes: The middle of the evening, the height of the party, three hours to midnight - it was so busy and packed with fun, at least for most. Lux was a bit intimidated, perhaps the press of the dancers, or the drunken euphoria of the party itself led her mind to be a little overwhelmed. Her owl was somewhere nearby, but likely was hanging out with other familiars or pets up in the rafters. It was too bright and too busy for her, probably. There were mental pings of all types around her though, both in and out of the venue itself. Beyond those big (hopefully thick, definitely magical) windows it was deep sea whales and dragons, inside there were already draconic minds demanding attention.

From two sides, Lux realized there were very demanding hungry dragons heading her way. And one of them was barely half the size of Ophelia her owl! As a hatchling this seemed pretty dangerous, but the checkerboard-winged knockoff still made their way right toward Lux, confidently sidestepping dancers, drunks, and even other bigger dragons.

They will be quite speedy, bespoke a mind that was strong and sure, I bet they will give that bird a challenge.

An incredibly dark and shiny dragoness met nose to nose with that brightly white one, and put her wing over the smaller one to protect it.

Lux still felt the intense hunger coming off both of them, and realized... "Wait, ... wait, both of you want to come with me?" She asked, baffled. She didn't realize this could happen.

"Of course, I am Rhoiboth, you are both mine," the obsidian gem dragon said, with a little difficulty. Learning how to speak fresh out of the shell was really amazing too! Lux knelt and picked up the tiny white pawn, who gave off a trilling yawn, and the larger dragoness helped herself to Lux's other shoulder. Neither of them would be big, maybe not even big enough to ride, but that seemed to be fine - as, eventually, it looked as though Indigo had found herself one that would get very large!

Size isn't everything, the little white calling itself Dyalkeba sighed. Lux hugged them both, and even offered Ophelia some of that fresh-cut meat they got to eat.

Meeting Notes: Ettrian was much better suited to this party than Taleasin, or at least that's what Tal thought. While he didn't exactly mope, he was still hesitant to enter the fray on that dance floor, it was just too intimi--

His hand was grasped, warm and strong fingers sure of their grip. Yanked sideways into the group on the wide ballroom floor, Taleasin had no choice, and wouldn't protest out of politeness... If this woman was 'polite' perhaps that might... Well she was confident, and slender, and beautiful. Red-brown eyes looked at him seriously, he was so stiff and hesitant while dancing. Also he was completely unfamiliar with the music, it definitely wasn't from his world. But she smiled, she was not staring at his scars, rather at his eyes. They danced for a time, two songs, and she finally released him into the room once more.

Baffled, suddenly exhausted, Tal saw why they'd stopped - it wasn't because she was done dancing, it was because they were making way for dragons to parade across the floor. And... of all things, one of them with bright checkerboard wings stumbled right up to his brother! Well that was certainly good for him!

Another little checkerboard dragon, one that had been seen constantly virtually everywhere around the tables and dance floor area, came to Tal and seemed to be offering a small sandwich plate. Well, that was welcome! Over the course of the next few hours, this same dragonet arrived - one time with bubbling champagne, another with a moist towelette and spicy meat strips, and finally, who just sat next to him quietly.

He'd chosen a table closer to one of the kitchen entrances, apparently, the only people looking this direction were those waiting for special dishes, and they didn't look for, or at, him. His brother continued to enjoy himself, going so far as to carry his new little dragon around to sniff noses with others. Amused, tired, and growing a little dejected, when the clock looked to be nearly an hour to midnight, the dragon beside his seat laid its head on his lap and gave a musical little sigh.

My sister wants to meet you, she has waited all evening but you did not go back out to see.

Tal froze in mid-bite, and looked down at the dragon. Surely he'd imagined it? No, no, those eyes looked at him almost with puppy-dog brows. He finished chewing, dabbed his lips, took a sip of water.

"Your... Sister?" He asked, and the dragon nodded, a little tiredy itself. "Where should I find her?"

By the window with the whales, the little one seemed encouraged, and stood once more. I will take you! Tal stood, carefully leaving his gift bag items by the sign that said he would return, on the table. Led by the grey and white dragon, Tal followed along the edge of the dance floor and closer to the orchestra pit, though oddly the music coming from that strange group was muted somehow. There was not an act on stage just now, so they were providing a reasonably sedate tune for a slower dance on the floor.

Ahead, though, there were tall arched windows looking out to the deep dark sea outside Rapture. The Stage had a backstage area, but... you couldn't see it from the window? How was that possible? Tal looked around and didn't find another dragon. Was this some trick?

It is not a trick, as I'm right here, another voice, more feminine and stronger in volume than the little one. There was a lot behind this voice. It seemed like it could turn very sharp, or sonorous, a lullaby or a cacopheny at will.

Taleasin realized that the figure nearby was the source of this mental voice. He'd assumed it was a guest, standing with their back to the dance floor and gazing out at the massive... 'whales' (he'd never seen such creatures and couldn't know that the one nearest was actually known as ruu-un'den-ket, a manta-like animal from Xen, while another called a whale had long tendrils and glowed with an eerie blue luminescence and was definitely not from Earth). He took a moment to appreciate that view, and walked delicately toward this dragon. They had a stripe of dark hair, he thought it was literally just a woman standing there. Though... She... definitely didn't have a dress on, those brightly white wings looked like a shiny garment as she held them in such a way. But she turned her head, long on that neck, with armor coming from her brows, definitely not human. Or elf, or virtually any other breed he'd heard of.

She didn't blink but she did suddenly move into a different shape, descending to a horizontal direction rather than vertical. I am Euhesme, this is Eqo; my sibling and I would like to help you. Your brother is concerned. We will accompany you to keep you safe and happy.

She didn't seem like she would be dissuaded by any of his typical arguments... He wondered, was this what Annir intended? Well, it must have been.

The littler dragon chirped happily, we will make a great team, and you're going to love it! The larger shapeshifting sister gave a draconic smile, in agreement.

Brilmeba

Name: Brilmeba (BRILL may bah; overall note: Since they are supermutt with Legend Drak bloodlines they have a given name, a clutch moniker (in this case nye standing for New Year's Eve/nt for several different pairs), an ' elide, and a parent-determined last portion (in this case females get nnay, males get aynn). If they breed with further Drak like lines, or those which have naming conventions of some sort, this should carry logically, though the complexity of the Legend Drak naming has been simplified a bit for this clutch; Specific -MEBA is the knockoff designator, they may change this to the full name if promoted from knockoff to Pawn only)
Gender: (choose +preference as desired)
Size: 4'4" s/l/ws
Build: slinky long legs
Physical Features: Drak-like supermutt, four legs with heavy claws, fluff on back legs; four wings two main and two butt-wings, with claws on the fore and Shatternak-styled wing barbs on hind; head has two horns, ear floof, a silky mane, multicolored sclera with pupil; tail has floof and a sharp (poison?) spine; they are furry but they are also egg-layers
Colors: Black Pawn 2 dark near black mottled body, dramatic checkerboard on all wings (varying size checks), mane mist, leg floof silver, and tail floof flat black; ear floof black, claws dark, multicolored eyes with yellow iris
Stats: Strength, Speed, Endurance, Agility, Health, Intelligence 3 average with one stat at 2 and one at 5 your choice
Abilities: most abilities (telepathy, verbal speech, local teleport) at 3, but exceptionally strong specific-location Portal (6) and 5 choose what kind of spit/sting they produce; do not use or carry the shifting or genetic abilities of full pieces regardless of promotion from knockoff
Parents: donor clutch Merajanay + Bales apa Larsis'Iann
Bond: Ettrian, Voluntary Companionship
Meeting Notes: (also see above) It had been a lot of work to make sure that his brother even showed up, let alone had fun here at this big party. The thought that he might have slunk away was obvious - he'd chosen a table over by one wall where the kitchens connected to the buffet area, so like him to want eyes near him but not on him. Maybe after tonight he'd realize that scars were common and people were made of more than skin?

The clock said it was four hours until the midnight bell, and a big batch of amazingly pretty dragons with more wings to go around than typical showed up through one of the archways. One was very dark, still brightly lit up the room with its checkerboard wings and silky fur.

"I am Brilmeba! Yours!" It cried, and snatched the sandwich that Ettrian was just about to munch on! With the size of the parents, he wasn't sure whether this would be a big dragon or a little one, because as he dutifully brought the dragon over to the meats and checkup area, he'd been told to expect the 'knockoffs' to remain quite small compared to their clutch mates. He wasn't sure why this would be true but it didn't matter, he had a little friend now and he was bound and determined to show them off!

Bond: Niq Valence
Meeting Notes: She'd noticed them arrive, just before the third hour ahead of midnight. They were sneaky, that was certain. Niq was sneaky too, and she decided to watch what might happen with these long legged, long tailed... long necked and very strange dragons. They weren't as brightly white in their lightest form, nor as deeply black in their darkest, as many others were being billed - the checkerboard black and white was much starker than these dragonets.

One or two of them outright vanished before her eyes, but then again so had she: because from her vantage point as a hanging decoration on one balcony, who would have guessed she was a person? A few of the smoke dragons lingered near one or another person or dragon group, obviously finding their forever-friend or just a place to hang out. Eventually, Niq grew a little bored of this, as well her shape needed to revert to her normal appearance so she dropped to the floor, startling one of the dancers.

She thought that was that, even got around to dancing a little, herself. Enjoying the food - so much of it, but not too much to be bloated or bogged down. She'd hardly ever seen this much food in one place, and been able to just... reach out and eat it, most of her life. It was nearly an hour later when she felt something strange brush her elbow. On turning, she saw nothing out of the ordinary. There was a dim corridor behind her, so Niq headed into it on habit. Oh, the casino was back there? She heard noises of a few slot machines and someone inexpertly belting out a cheerful song on the small stage there.

Well, there was ample opportunity to make a coin or two here... and not exactly by playing cards. However, before she could reach into the first pouch for whatever local coinage this odd four-armed man had, Niq felt that brushing once more. She covered for her own startled glance around by apologizing to the man in earnest, and heading off to the far wall. What was going on, was this place infested with mosquitoes or something?

No, no infestation... Besides, I could take care of that easily.

Niq's normally tan cheeks went pale, but she said nothing, she didn't want to appear too skittish. With her eyes, she scanned the area and tried to look casual. Finally up on one of the small dining balconies around the casino floor, she saw a billowing shape. Almost like a cape, or smoke on the wind.

Oh.

Niq ascended the wide black-velvet runner on the white marble stairs, picking up another chunk of cheese to pop into her mouth on the way. The dragon that waited for her stood carefully, but proudly with her head up and violet eyes shining. How her wings could 'fold' like that, and still be smoke, Niq couldn't guess. The markings on her limbs and tail swirled like the oddly hole-filled edges of her tail and wings.

"I wanted to make sure you were the right one for me," the dragon spoke in a strangely husky voice. "Looks like you are. Cilalı Dumani," she asserted, "we will be trouble together. Who'll know?"

A broad grin, unusual on her normally stoic face, grew on Niq's lips.

Bond: Cypher Valence, Impressed
Meeting Notes: It was surprisingly late in the evening when the pair of black Pernese dragons brought out their beautiful clutch for all to see. Two hours to midnight, where most of the others had come out an hour or two earlier. But those were nothing like this dark and shiny batch, and Cypher appreciated not only how pretty they were, but how strong their wings and high held bodies would be when they matured. Light caught their hide or their wings, sparkling in a dark rainbow, almost like they had scales, but these dragons did not - this was hide, he'd learned that they would probably need some amount of care if they... Well they wouldn't bond to him, surely. It was late, he'd probably be going home alone, watching his friends and their dragonets.

Oh but I want to come with you! A rich voice, so much more mature than it could have been at a very fresh hatching, came to Cypher's mind. He paid attention to the direction it came from, and turned out... it was that one in the middle of the pack, smaller than most but bigger than a few in that group, and obviously twice the size of those little checkerboard ones stumbling around the edges of the ball room.

"Do you? Really? Think you can keep up?" Cypher smiled, and the dragon raced suddenly forward, past his peers at a surprisingly good pace, coming to a tumbling halt in front of the man.

"I know I can! I know! I am Geluath!" The dragon could speak out loud too? That voice was much higher than his mental one, maybe some day they would match!

Bond: Wymer King, Impressed
Meeting Notes: Early in the night, some of the pure Pernese dragonets needed to be shown around the ballroom. Wymer had been informed about each of the types of dragons, but frankly some of it went over his head. So whatever the words 'pernese required impression' meant, he wasn't clear. What was clear was that these brilliant and sparkling dragons were bold as sunlight on snow, even against the white marble dance floor they walked across.

Someone had nudged him out on the dance floor, and he did try a little action there earlier, but everyone was so energetic and they obviously had training for those more formal dances... By the time it was 4 hours to midnight Wymer drifted over to the buffet table instead. There were fish dishes... and he found that he avoided those; there were plenty of other things that smelled fantastic and didn't bring up melancholy memories of his youth trying to fish.

Can I have some of that? A voice asked, and on impulse he reached for one of the 'Hawaiian bee bee kew skewers' to offer it to whoever had asked. Momentarily, there was a pleased feeling...

Wait, a 'feeling'? He looked away from his piled plate and found his gaze matched by a dragonet who was standing on his hind legs with forefeet carefully gripping the table edge. The dragon carefully avoided spearing himself with that thin bamboo stick, but also carefully avoided the tangy pineapple fruits between the pieces of meat.

Can I have some more, but from over there? The dragon was clearly addressing him, Wymer alone, and shifted his gaze from the human to a section of the floor that had checkerboard-winged dragons as well as humanoids handing out bowls and buckets for dragon hatchlings.

"Well I mean, I can't stop you," Wymer said, "but you should take it easy! You seem... a little tired."

It was fun moving around those dancers! The dragon admitted, he had certainly been able to avoid being kneed or tripped over on his way past everyone. I like you, you are kind and strong.

Wymer proved just how strong, when he picked up the dragonet carefully (like a puppy, hold the butt not the chest) and walked them over to that feeding area.

Parents: Thaljath + Olelikoth
Bond: Erlathan Staghart, Impression
Meeting Notes: Keeping up with his wife was actually more of a challenge than he expected. There was a joy to her gaze that he hadn't seen in so long on anyone around him. Anyone but her. They learned names of some of those amazing sea creatures visible through one of the big windows, they discovered treats of rice and fish and fruits, cherry wines and tarts. Everything was quite busy here; there was always something visible on the stage, even if it was just one single woman singing a heart-felt song, or a full - noisy - 'rock band'. Dancing on the wide, white marble floor was something to see!

They even went into the casino, but were wise enough to avoid dropping too many coins on card games neither of them knew much about. They'd eaten a big meal and enjoyed the sparkling wines with complete strangers. Some of them may have been from their own world, but it was quite certain that most were not!

Erlathan stared hard at his plate, wishing fervently that there was something more substantial on it. Something meaty. He furrowed his brows, that wasn't like him, really, and besides he'd eaten more than his fill!

"It is for me," a quiet voice, one with a touch of an edge to it, spoke. "I would like something? I know they have a big trough over there but I'd prefer it be you helping me to it." He noticed his wife was slightly stiff, trying not to turn her head and stare. But her eyes sought his, and he saw her cheeks begin to bunch into a smile.

Erlathan leaned back a bit, and off to his other side was a not-really-small dragonet. They'd hatched at this event, or perhaps ... somewhere else and were brought here by the same big magical portals that sent them from their own home. But information he'd been given said that most of these would be quite young, and need a bit of care before they were grown. What he did with his life was care for creatures, but he'd never met a dragon let alone cared for one. What if he screwed it up? What if -

You will not, the dragon reached out with her mind, now he knew this dragon was female by her mind. Well that was something. But could we get that meat? And you can tell me about this disaster your family had - I bet they will be falling over themselves trying to get closer once they know of me.

She was definitely not wrong... Grepixyeth had a hard to say name but was as bright and shiny as fresh polished silver against a snow drift.

Parents: Sheng Stac'ver + Vassago Thain

Meeting Notes: It was getting later in the evening, perhaps late in the event itself given that it was meant to be a midnight bash. The pair this time were just stunning - muscular builds in their sire who stood upright most of the time, and that long stretch of their mother. And it was one that looked in some ways quite similar to that dam, who swaggered over to the red-skinned demon whose patience had worn quite thin over the night.

I can keep her in check, a voice as proud and strong as his own came into Varrazos' mind. I can keep eyes on your enemies and your allies both.

Varrazos stood tall, his wings shifting to avoid knocking over the silver tray holding plates and his empty wine glass. Though this was still a hatchling, he stood on his hind legs, balancing with that long split and dangerously spiny tail as well as with the brightly marked wings. And he stood nearly eye to eye with the demon. It was impossible to miss the danger on this dragon - some animals had coloration that displayed their toxins or venom inclination and this one... This one was just burning with potential threat.

A smile moved over Varrazos' lips. "I would be honored to show you around when we get home."

The dragon introduced himself, "Belur Sheva, I am." He dipped back to the floor, finally exhausted from his walk and strutting. "I am... hungry," so he also displayed the ability to speak and not just with telepathy? Oh this was marvelous. It seemed the dragon knew that, too.

Parents: Evugith + Fadhila
Bond: Vedrima Molmuth, Voluntary Companionship
Meeting Notes: She had swished through the ball room, saw the dazzled looks from so many men and a good few women, but she wasn't here for that. On their arrival, she had laughed as the demon escorting her gave her a glare (trying to keep her from trouble, oh please, it was a party that's what you're supposed to be doing). She picked up a large glass of wine from one of the little checkerboard dragon ushers, oh they were so busy-busy... Vedrima knew that actually making a party of any size come off without a hitch required a lot of effort. She'd rather attend them, in fact she'd rather not even see the busy work and back breaking lead up at all - she wanted to be on the dance floor, or prowling the casino, or even just standing before the big improbable windows overlooking eerie depths or distant worlds.

Maybe if she kept moving, though, her stuffy companion on this trip would lose her and lighten up a little himself. She knew he wasn't the type to get onto the dance floor, obviously. But she bet that if they had a sparring arena he would have liked that. Not that she cared. An hour until midnight, after she'd danced with a dozen different partners and even had a mock rivalry between herself and another of a group that arrived almost entirely to dance, Vedrima took a bit of a breather. There were plenty of tables to relax around, including a bunch of them that were populated by those simply seeking a bit of rest from the dance floor - groups unrelated save for their enjoyment focused on that aspect of the party. By this time, though, some of those tables were thinning out, because of... well, because of the dragons.

A good number of the attendees were being chosen by the black and white and silver and grey dragons as they were presented over the course of the night. They now had things to think on other than enjoying the evening. As two more groups of those dragons were spreading from different arched nooks, Vedrima poked at the plate in front of her. It was good, spiced strips of meat served over a bed of crispy ... 'chips'. But it wasn't what she really desired, there was something missing.

Shall I suggest, you miss having someone to back you up?

Staring at the plate, hard, Vedrima blinked and wondered if someone had spiked her drink - more than it already was.

No no, silly, she heard a strange high-pitched screeching laugh nearby, I'm sure your food is fine... it's me you want to look at!

She did look - one of those dragons with the incredibly complicated markings was staring back at her. They were small just now, 'foal' sized apparently by their horse-like shapes, but this one? Oh she was just lovely! Her markings sparkled like ripples through the champagne! We'll be able to get away or into trouble quick and easy.

Vedrima smiled broadly, though she did make note that her stuffy demonic companion had also apparently found a friend among the other dragons. Didn't bode well, but she had now definitely doubled the chance to pester them!

Parents: Donor clutch Sheng Stac'ver + Vassago Thain
Bond: Saevel, Voluntary Multibond
Meeting Notes: Everyone here was living, well almost everyone, and that set Saevel apart. But their power over souls was actually... not as unique among the powerful of this group than the Gatherer expected. They did notice how many dead still lingered near the one exit, the one to the facility beyond called Rapture. Oh, not all of them had drowned, loitering on the sea floor with the pull of the tides not even reaching them. Some had died from violence or self inflicted passions, overdoses, odd power use that came from locally produced magical potions called Plasmids.

All of that, Saevel simply knew. They also knew how far from the sky, the stars, the heavens, this place was, at least the physical manifestation of it. It overlapped numerous dimensions, one of which was their own. The place probably wouldn't remain connected, of course. Saevel gave a nod of respect to the pair of human-appearing men nearby; they were not human, in any way, nor were their souls mortal. They both had extremely strong ties to this place, both magically and physically. One of them had resided here long before, the other - the same man from another dimension - had come with dragons.

And it was a dragon that sat, staring patiently, at Saevel, around three hours until midnight. It had very dark hide and black and white wings, a paler belly. We are waiting, the dragon bespoke. Though there was a strange tug at Saevel's deepest self, the dragon's mind only brushed up against it, didn't invade nor push on it. We will continue to wait. You will see.

What Saevel did see was that this dragon was ... bonded to his very essence, delicately, gently. The dragon's mind was tired, well more exhausted than sleepy - though apparently the 'knockoffs' were engineered and created using machinery and magic, they still hatched out of shells and were still little baby dragons when all was said and done. Saevel gleaned that the word moving through their mind was a name: Hutamsh. Bigger versions of that dragon's siblings had... stars on their wings, or other such markings, so the stars were still in its blood. That, for whatever reason, pleased Saevel.

Now two, they wandered the floor silently. Sometimes, Saevel carried the dragonet, but it felt a little odd doing so. This was not a body, to be split from its essence. It would need care, which Saevel would certainly provide.

And me? Will you provide for me too? I would like to learn what you do. I see them too, the spirits. This dragon was almost as opposite as you could get from Hutamsh: upright, brightly white, but also bearing those checkerboard markings common to the ones that had been formed for reasons unknown.

Saevel understood that reason: because there were a lot of people here, who would benefit from this companionship, just like they were going to.

"Yunsheva," Saevel said, and the dragonet nodded once in reply.

Bond: Ayla Lenville, Impressed
Meeting Notes: There were whispers and then mutters and then cheers and shouts, when the first of the groups of dragons emerged from their private lodges. It was four hours until midnight according to the big black clock above the dance floor, and it made sense that some of the earliest participants in the event would have their hatchings first. The dragons that came from that archway (which was white at the top, black at the bottom, and mixed along the edges in a sparkling dot pattern) resembled the arch in significant ways! The parents were lovely, and Shanyrria pulled her mistress' sleeve. "They're so festive, don't you think?"

It was all that Ayla could do to remain civil, but... but then she did turn to look at the dance floor. So many people still on it, dancing in the corners and edges, but through the middle walked a bunch of wide-winged (and slightly sleepy looking) dragons. They hardly came to a human knee, but then again the parents of the clutch hardly stood higher than a human head. And they were lovely, weren't they?

Ayla put another cheese popper into her mouth, it was odd that she was so hungry, she'd been munching here and there while dodging attempts to get her on that very same dance floor. Everyone was so dressed up and fancy and... ugh, it just made her edged and angry. How could she have let anyone convince her - even a goddess - to come here?

What about me? Can... can I convince you? Aren't I worth it?

She looked up sharply, glancing around, looking for the source of the voice. It wasn't a goddess, it wasn't Shanyrria's voice, certainly. Until her eye was drawn downward. The voices around them were turning hushed, as if everyone was holding their breath. Why? It was because a small dragonet had walked toward their small table. Shanyrria breathed, whispering, "it looks like your dress, it matches you," but said nothing more that Ayla could hear. The noises in the background all faded into a muddled blur as the green sparkling eyes met hers.

Everyone will want to see you, and respect you, I promise. The dragon bespoke carefully. She was... lovely? Though small and somewhat unsure of her step, she announced, I am Tjuetoth, it's time for you to become new, like the night into day.

"Well that was surprisingly deep," Ayla chuckled. How would she adjust to this new role? What would it really be? Who knew, but she now had a dragon to show for it.

Bond: Ansiel Venvalur, Voluntary Bond
Meeting Notes: Between three and two hours before the midnight bell, a pair of tall and long (one was tall, the other long, both quite a bit higher at the shoulder than even most other dragons) came from one of the hatching nooks. While the oil-dark sire was like a shadow to his brightly calico marked mate, all the hatchlings displayed a wide array of markings between them! He tried to get a better look but quite a few people were between him and the dance floor. By design, really.

Ansiel was not entirely comfortable at the party, but that was mainly because he hardly had the opportunity to leave his duties back home. He did, however, feel reasonably good about being allowed or even encouraged to show off his wings; something that might have been out of place among mortals or regular folk. Here... the 'regular' folks were of such a staggering array of wild he hardly was the weirdest thing at the party.

I don't think you're weird, a voice appeared in his mind. That felt... odd, even for a seer - usually he could scrye for things, seeking information and individuals that others would then collect or aid. This was a mind that came directly to him.

It added a moment later, after Ansiel pondered this, Well maybe a little weird... He could all but feel the eyes belonging to that mind roll in amusement.

"I'm not... I'm not weird," Ansiel said, wondering now just where it had come from. Then he heard a little 'cough cough', and realized that many people were openly staring at him. His wings abruptly vanished, he stood as though having been caught at the cookie jar. But he didn't even know why?

Because now you're talking to yourself, jibed that mind. It was male, it was ... a dragon. The dragon sitting on the white marble floor in front of him, cloudy dark and pale greys across his head and shoulders, brilliant shiny white wings held carefully nested against his body. There would be dark horns coming from those odd giraffe-like horns on his head, and a bright crest of some kind though neither of those things had developed beyond nubs. I think you should take some time off, I can have you home in time for work. I'll... need some help with my studies too.

"Your - your studies?"

You can't expect me to learn how to do that, the dragon nodded his head at Ansiel's wings which had re-appeared, if I don't have proper training, do you? You can hook me up, right?

"I... suppose that I can!" The dragon finally announced himself as Xusanyth, a word that rolled around in Ansiel's mind, and it was one he'd get used to speaking once they got home, he'd get to introduce the dragon to just everyone!

Meeting Notes: at 3 hours until midnight, it was an almost endless parade of varied - and tiny - dragonets that came from their hatching nooks. What they lacked in size, they absolutely made up for in sheer volume, how many eggs did these little things even produce?! There were white with black, black with white, silvery and graphite dragons. There were a few that were tall and lean, and then... these glossy, sleek, catlike dragonets that prowled with more grace than most.

They seemed slightly intimidated by some folks, but obviously took this in stride. A dragon could choose who they left this place with, right? If they did?

"If we did not leave, that would mean someone would be going home without us," something said.

Irin furrowed her brow. On looking downward (... quite a way down in fact) she spotted a dragon black as tar save for the absolutely brilliant white wings. Big sharp claws emerged from her paws, and there would be horns on her head eventually. Irin looked around to the others of this type - and realized that she was significantly bigger than her clutch mates.

I do not have to be large to be the queen, the dragonet bespoke, but then Irin's heart skipped a beat, I will be going home with you, you know.

Irin straightened up a bit, surprised, "a... queen wants to come home with me?"

"The very one," that dark and impressively shiny dragoness said, with a very catlike purr.

Meeting Notes (for all Lucius): It felt fairly strange to be standing at a bar picking up a dark beer with a pale head - and the bartender was apparently a raccoon woman. Now, she wasn't unattractive, in fact she was... markedly pretty. But if she seemed ill at ease with any of the humans or elves or whatever else was here, she didn't show it in any way. She had a brilliant smile with little pointy teeth, an afro which almost covered her ears, velvety brown skin with black and grey accents, and that distinct mask marking on her face; he wasn't sure whether the fur trim over her snug shiny grey dress was her own or part of the outfit. Lucius was apt to stare, but it appeared she was completely comfortable with that - or she was so used to it that it didn't seem to matter. She pushed the Guinness at him with a napkin under it and a wink. "Have some fun," she suggested.

It was less than an hour later when she took a break, found him, and dragged him to the dance floor. She had a fuller tail than any 'real' raccoon but then she was either half-human or ... something else. Not a shifter, not like him. And yet, this was the most fun he'd had in years. Brandy tugged on his elbow while they were in mid-swing, "Something is happening," she said, and glanced to the edge of the room.

Others paused in their dance too, because a pair of stunning dragons were leading their offspring out from their nook and through the big room. They were on the tall side, but long too, with tails that just kept going, and were covered in a downy fluff even as hatchlings. Most of the little ones bumbled about, occasionally staggering or pausing to gain their footing again. Some of them sniffed at a dancer, moved around, looked at those at the tables beyond, or outright stood up and gave chittering discussions to their new friend. They sure were shiny, and ran the whole gamut between rich black and sparkly white.

One of them nudged Brandy, who laughed, "well, I suppose I can give him up for a dance or two." She'd gone back to her station at the wide bar before he could even speak. But then there was something else to consider, and that was the black furred dragon who had interrupted.

"Mine," she said, "you, we wait now." Perhaps she spoke this way because - well, she was just hatched, wasn't she? She'd certainly become more adept at it with time.

Lucius blinked a few times after pondering that. "Wait, you're -"

"Mine, Feibuu's," she reiterated. And then she walked with confidence to a section of the floor that had been prepared for new dragons to feed. Lucius wasn't the only one with the baffled expression, others definitely were amused or confused in varying degrees by their new friends. He could feel the gentle ping of her mind, though it wasn't as invasive as he expected if this was a bond?

No, that came an hour or so later, when some described as 'Pernese' came out. He heard muttering that the parents were pretty far from 'pure' if that was the breed, but he didn't know what that might mean, and it didn't matter. A dragon much lighter than the first though still clearly 'dark' stomped up and sat down with a stare directly at Feibuu and then at Lucius.

"It is okay," Feibuu said. She didn't seem exasperated, but she might want to work on her inflection.

I want to come with you too. I am Mawlaeju and I am hungry.

Lucius found that he knew both of those things before the dragon even expressed them telepathically. Back to the feeding floor it was! This was one of the 'knockoff' types? Well it seemed perfectly good, if smaller than some. Checkerboard patterns improbably on its wings, now that would be ... challenging, in some settings.

Even more challenging would be the second dragonet that insisted they come along with the existing pair. This one was bicolored with a dark body and lighter belly, but still had the checkerboard patternings on its wings and ridges. (Though apparently these were 'much more like Pernese' than before...) Their features were different, but then again weren't all species just a bit different from place to place? Taomami inserted themselves into the werewolf's mind with a gentle pleased feeling. Much more pleased when they were full of fresh cut meat, and resting with the other two.

His pack was growing, Lucius realized. At least two of them would remain pretty small, but he did wonder... how would he feed them all? Where would they roost?

As the trio snoozed and he sipped at champagne toward midnight, he decided he'd figure that out when he got home. For now, he watched the celebration with a smile.
