BACK to the intro page

They weren't made to wait too long, though their friends Pho and Y'ral had already Impressed a while before this pair was to stand again. Lainra and Kiryn both came to the sands, but only one was to come away with a dragon. Early on in the hatching of ** clutch, two blues broke open from their shells and tangled hopelessly.

Well that's how it sounded to hear them say it - their chosen riders helped them apart, though K'ryn was a bit slow on the uptake for this event. Though they sat at his feet, the two blues were more a sight to be seen than an event to understand.

K'ryn! K'ryn!! Deadglow! announced the blue, and Kiryn, now acknowledging the fact his name had changed, laughed guiltily. I've been calling your name since hatching out of that sharded shell!!

"Sorry, **," he said in both mind and voice.

It would be a short hatching, one which Lainra knew she wasn't suited for. It wasn't her style, but then she was tugged away by a local. She'd be standing on the other side of the fence, a sort of sub-area of the Weyr. She saw how different the colors were and while entranced, she knew she wans't going to quite be cut out for the truly weird shades that might show up... And she was glad.

Not a few hours later, that clutch that Lainra had been escorted to, began to hatch! There were such gorgeous hatchlings! Ones with faded colors, and wingsails that danced with light.

A green slipped along the edge, knowing full well who she wanted but trying not to make a fuss of her arrival into the world. Lainra turned just as the green reached her. “Why are you trying to be ignored, **?”

The dragonet shrugged. I’m just a green. Nothing really special, like them, and she pointed with her muzzle to the two hatchlings that had emerged from ** ’s clutch. Lainra turned back to her dragon.

“You’re plenty special, dear one.” ** tilted her head to the side and beamed.
