Dragon Masters
of Zekira Character Creation
Strengths and Weaknesses
Check over each option carefully,
and note the information given at the bottom of the page
My Character was Bred by a professional
Genetic Engineer to become a Dragon Master or Breeder. They're not suited
to life anywhere other than near dragons!
This is the Type which has the least amoung ot options. Frankly, the few
status outside of the ones listed below just don't produce enough even
in a Breeding house, so don't worry about being from them.
Each Status has a few different slants for jobs or skills which a type
has, read down to find your chosen Status.
Slave -- Your Owner is very likely to be the Breeder who created you.
They will have chosen your traits such as powers and mutations, possibly
even your appearance. You will be working for them for the rest of your
life, and they expect you to perform proudly. If you like them, that's
a bonus. If they're awful, there's always pleading for release to the
authorities... You're going to be either partnered to or dealing with
dragons all the time, so all skills will go there
Bayaran -- It's also very likely that this Status has been Bred by their
Bond agent. You're paying off your debt, it might be your parent's debt
actually, they might owe the Breeder a lot of money for something and
quite frankly YOU are their payment. You'll be working near dragons, but
less likely actually partnered to one because it'll take much too long
to pay off that way. If you try hard, you might slip in and partner 'by
accident'...
Free Worker -- Forget it. They don't happen.
Free Land Holder -- Forget this Status too, it won't happen here. Move
along.
Membayar -- This is a very unlikely but possible Status to have after
being Bred for Mastery. Perhaps your character is slowly coming into their
powers and had to do something else other than run around on a Dragon
farm, they learned something or other about money and hit it off well
Owner -- Yeah right. See Free Land Holder. There just aren't enough Breeders
allowing Owners to take their children back from them once they've engineered
them for this to happen.
Suzerain -- The Bred Suzerain love being near dragons. They have land
and people to take care of it. It's ideal... but you've GOT to have money...
How is it made? Usually a profession like boarding or show arenas or hunting
are good for this type, since they'd be out allowing their Bonds and Slaves
to run things while they're off fighting Aliens
Animal Master -- This is second only to the Dragon Master type, and it
should be obvious that if an Animal Master has animal powers, they'll
only be working around animals, not Dragons. But perhaps your character
provides food or shelter to the Dragons, or even scouts out for land where
they can be bred!
Dragon Master -- The most diverse careers for a Bred master, anything
from wing commander on down to combat medic for dragon kind, Masters have
all sorts of physical skills but aren't so great at socializing and normal
things like 'history'...
Dragon Breeder -- A status of this sort will allow the character to use
their specific Tunings to create new dragons for other people, if not
themselves. They have to have a little more social skill but are not required
to learn too much else. They also might have more 'outdoorsy' skills than
their Zekiran-Breeder counterparts, since they slog around looking for
dragon eggs to hatch
Breeder -- The breeder of a tuned mutant has a lot of skill, including
engineering for the machinery which they use to breed, clinical studies,
anatomy and genetics as well as knowledge of the mind and the psionic
powers that result from Breeding. They also must know a lot about each
mutation or power, how it can be used, and who might be best to use it
on
High Owner -- Again they're thrill seekers and big-money getters. They
might have a set of dragons scattered around the globe, jetsetting. They
must know a lot of math, have a ton of energy, and be able to talk to
many people with ease
High Holder -- It's less likely that a High Holder will be commanding
a dragon, more like the people involved. They will do land deals and build
buildings, arrange transportation to and from danger hot-spots, and have
to be in constant communication with the world
Specially made, with special drawbacks, that's for sure. Without any proper
training in real life, the Bred Dragon Master will have little to do outside
their work. They are invited to parties, but they often don't know how
to behave at them, even in a high-status position.
What about the powers?
A strong Tuning for Dragon Mastery is necessary for this type of character.
Choose one "Special" rank Dragon Tuning, three "Major" Dragon Tunings,
and three "Minor" dragon tunings. Then, if you want to flesh them out
a tiny bit, maybe add another Major and Minor at random. They will be
required to breed if they're found to be fertile.
What about the Disadvantages?
Though specially Bred, they might have less in the way of obvious physical
mutations, and more of the subtle mental or emotional ones. They may have
an addiction to the rush of flight, have a terrible secret they must keep,
or have a severe social inability. They would be best off with a number
of small physical mutations, because they will have to be with their Dragons,
and will have been bred to be healthy enough to partner. They will NOT
usually have things to get in the way of riding or manipulation, so no
easily-broken bones, bad physical condidtions, etc.
This Type have an average-to-high fertility rate. |
