Sehatan: Unusual Form Healing, 13 years, 41kc plus per-job additions; capable of working on mutants with hoof-hands, modified limbs, unusual skulls, senses that are not common among normal people, fur, scales, etc - skilled with setting breaks of unusually fragile bird-bones, getting feathers to grow without curling, all manner of both deep and superficial issues. Since she also can shape flesh she can temporarily 'fix' an issue - this may be due to the person not being able to afford the much more costly permanent gene therapy or because they aren't sure they want it yet and will 'try it out'

Peridian 6th Degree, 2 years 12kc; her profession includes keeping records of spliced features, running the local K'vora animal-splicing BreedNet division (records and library inherited from father's mother) all of this with the focus in the background (that she isn't supposed to talk about shhhh) of finding those who also have specific longevity genes. While she can and has actually done such genetic engineering, it is not her strongest point, and she doesn't actively advertise this Status until much later (around 10700?) when she starts seeing the children and grandchildren of those whose records she herself wrote down...

For the most part she knows how to recognize things like bone density, whether a gene has been spliced, color and pigment density in skin and hair, things which mostly are the same superficial and limb-depth as her Flesh power

Mutation Sense - along with the genes that govern them, since these may occur only in some people, her experience with things other than animal splices has been limited, but she definitely knows her way around choosing among tools or recovery routines based on which specific mutations exist in a patient. She doesn't usually work with genetics that govern powers, only physical mutations such as wings, claw production, armored skin, and such

Flesh Shape - with concentration and touch, she can temporarily alter the color of skin and hair (not eyes, she avoids sensory cells), straighten curved or deformed bones and joints, even temporarily remove extra digits or small added features like 'headwings' or spikes. All of these will revert to their normal form over the course of about 3 to 5 months, but as above this may give a patient time to relearn how to walk without a limp, use fewer fingers, or even strengthen otherwise useless wings sprouting from their shoulders. Though this might fool the eye, it will never fool a Peridian's examination tool, so she makes sure to remind anyone that has these things done cosmetically: those colors will not breed true, that mutated lump on your leg will grow back and it will inherit that way to your kid if you try siring one. This process is often long and painful depending on how much flesh or bone is altered at a time, though the coloration or texture of hair and skin are usually only as painful as a sunburn or a tight braiding. She can use this as a form of attack, though has only had to do this once or twice with combative patients coming to the clinic

Hypnotic Suggestion - though she rarely uses this ability, at times it's best to put a stressed patient into a soft trance using a kind trigger word, than having to tackle them in the hallway. She knows how to recognize the signs that a patient might need such a treatment and will prep them for it carefully, generally without telling them, and in the case of it never being needed, she will also administer a 'refresh' code to keep that phrase from being deadly in the wrong hands

Special Regeneration / Self and Other - wounds under 8 points on herself will heal within minutes, automatically. Those injuries up to 16 points overall take a short period of concentration, and damage up to 24 points will heal effectively overnight if she's in a stable condition. She can regenerate her own limbs, and has done so with her one lower leg after a very nasty encounter with a toothy predator. This usually takes a week or so, but works on its own, or in a few days along with steady concentration and a goodly amount more food than normal. All of these can also be applied to humanoids including those who have been spliced so much they don't 'look' like normal Zekirans - this can work on Humans, Elves, Furries, whoever, but not 'animals' and not 'dragons' or things of that nature. In an emergency, depending on the amount of Zekiran or similar DNA, she can heal a being. But if they 'go over' a specific amount for splicing or unnatural effects and shape, she really just can't - doesn't know where to begin, and the power will fail to work at least the first time. Should she have time to study their dna, however, she could learn enough about the limb type, blood conditions, and such - and regrow, say, a dragon's half chewed wing. This would require a lot more effort and time, but it would be possible! (She is basically immortal, she's got time to figure out more and more anyway)
Physical Mutations / Social Disadvantages
Mutations Deer Spliced, an elegant Splay-Deer, typically found in marshy areas wading through slow moving rivers and shallow ponds. Many in her family line have such features, she has several cousins with them! Note that her coloration and markings are similar to those deer, though the main color is darker and the markings brighter (normally a dusty grey and soft tan) It is extremely likely that the deer suite overall actively aids the longevity genes in her family, with such regrowth as well as regenerative properties following together

Splay Deer Splice - this entire suite inherits as one mutation
- Furry, 1-2 cm thick highly waterproof fur on all but her face, which is velvety and shorter; allergen producer, this fur may adversely affect people so she makes sure to have any new patients screened for this - if they aren't furry themselves!
- Water Resistant, no negative modifiers for working in slow moving or shallow water, and she can swim very well
- Hoof Fingers, she has a large thumb and two large modestly stiff fingers on each hand, and though they are harder than just skin and flesh, her fingers are much softer than her toes, and can still feel to a limited degree, as well as manipulate items and objects. She usually has specialized equipment to suit her needs such as mugs and utensils, medical tools, and data pad input devices. Since there are a large number of hoof-handed mutants in the world at any given time, these things are actually mass-produced and don't cost much more than normal ones
- Modified Legs and Feet, these odd outward-pointing hooves are the Splay Deer's namesake, as they are capable of walking over thick vegetation and floating leaves or lily pads barely sinking into the water! She can deliver a 4 point bashing kick with her foot if needed, but only would need to in very dire clinic settings! She cannot wear shoes but does have custom-made anti-slip pads for the clinic
- Short Furry Tail, not much more to say, but it does flicker around on its own when she's nervous
- Note that these changes of tail and legs mean she cannot wear some kinds of clothing comfortably and they must be tailored specifically for her form
- Full Head Modification, that's a deer with long hair includes:
-- Muzzle, teeth and diet are geared toward vegetable and insect, she can eat fish and wine or sweets and processed foods but avoids just a straight up steak as it might make her ill for a while
-- Long Flexible Ears, she can move her ears independently and focus on quiet sounds, pinpointing them easily by tilting her head or looking around a little
-- Eyes are slightly wider set than typical though are still more than adequately binocular she does have a wider field of view
-- Antlers, these grow and shed every decade, she has had two full pair and is on her third in the image above, they are about to shed. When they are new they are covered in a thick plush velvet, the velvet does start to loosen and slough off in ... kinda disgusting flappy chunks, and then she's left with sharp, dry bone. These phases of growth coincide with her fertility and her scent production, see below. Her first set had two prongs on each, she's up to 5, though they will likely top out at 7 points each. Each of those is capable of doing 4 points of impale damge, and overall even in velvet she can deliver a hard 8 point bash with a headbutt. She is able to withstand this impact, your head not so much. If they are broken, eh she doesn't much worry about it, all the points will be back overnight if they're still in velvet...

Disadvantages

Scent Production / Fertility Cycle / Kinda Gross her antlers show you just what stage she's at. While she can actually attempt conception outside of the 3 month window just after they fall off and start budding, at that time she is considered Hyperfertile with any other hoof-mutated or deer-spliced male, and her scent will attract them. It will also attract male deer. Or predators that know the scent of a rutting deer. They also know the scent of blood, which she carries around for at least 3 weeks, and during which she will not see any patients unless it is a dire emergency, as this is incredibly unsanitary. During the velvet shed, she is not able to 'reform' the velvet with her regeneration, this is part of her normal body's activity. She can speed up their growth, but it won't matter, they will remain on her head for the next few years, and then this process starts again. While the velvet is coming off, her Budak takes care of her physical needs - it's not painful but it is quite gross so cleaning bedding, keeping the flies away, you know that kind of thing...

Herd-Oriented, deer in most cases are herd animals, and her spliced DNA gives her the down sides too. She enjoys a little 'me-time' but 'a little'. If she doesn't hear a person or one of the 'pets' scattered around her estate and grounds, she will start seeking them out or even call for one. If she's actually alone for more than a 10 day period her rolls for any skill is at -5 due to malaise and depression. This has happened at least during her velvet shed, before she realized that the horrible feeling of inadequacy and looming darkness only happened after she sent all of her servants away on a 2 week trip. On the other hoof, her skills can enhance a team's and she truly shines when working together, her skills reflect this. She might be seen as a touch on the clingy side, trotting along behind a patient or their family as they leave the facility, or needing to have someone with her on an extended trip. This does not change with the gender of those around her unless she's in her hyperfertile phase, where she will wait and watch those handsome males...

Powers: Winged Flight, Vae is light on her feet as well as delicate in the air, but speedy and agile as well. She is extremely good at carrying small packages across the facilities or entire Holds when someone really needs an item they left or a medicine is required Right Now, and has yet to break a vial or jostle a floral display!
Teleportation Local and Nexus, Vae invited herself right to Thayzhli's doorstep, and can return to any given dimension or local spot unerringly, but does need to concentrate on either to get the clearest picture possible first. She can take a small package but not much more with her either way
Telepathy and Verbal Speech, it seems she always knew how to speak the Zekiran tongue, though for the first few days she said nothing and hinted only with her mind that she was there for the long haul. After that period, however, it's a bit hard to get her to shut up. It is unclear whether her presence qualifies for Thayzhli's 'herd' but it's highly likely she does, because it's hard to deny that a chatty little being with a powerful mind like hers isn't 'a person'!

Vae actually loves watching the weird changes that her friend goes through, not morbidly but with curiosity. She knows from having her feathers drop into a sad little pile (she always keeps them close...) that this can be traumatic. After all, she has to resort to walking (or... teleporting) when she can't fly! Not that she thinks that Thayzhli does a lot of head-butting when her antlers are coming apart, but she does understand and cuddles in that odd short time (she did come around shortly before the velvet shed) when things just seem so so so awful.
