Gender: multi-gendered, tends toward male in appearance, uses he/him but can bear as well as sire offspring

Age/DOB: around 20

Origin/Species: Zeddian, brought off world by the Caledrus research vessel

Family: Unknown, abandoned due to having only two arms

Other: of all the mutations possible among Zeddians, losing two arms is probably considered the worst - because all of their technology, clothing, and societal expectations are geared toward having four; this put him at a tremendous disadvantage in all respects

Height: 6'4" (slightly shorter than a typical Zeddian, he's even missing the vertebrae that extend their torso to accommodate those other two arms!)

Weight: average, not muscular

Hair: high shoulder length, curled at the tips, weak white

Eyes: pale green, large and intense

Appearance: shell white skin with easily-seen dark graphite stripes; visible mutations: two long, straight horns on head which are rather sharp, with their tips slowly growing (in the lighter white color) and eventually solidifying into the darker graphite shade. As they grow he may eventually have to do something about their length, they're hollow but they are definitely going to get quite big eventually. Notably he is missing two arms - yes, "missing" arms, which brings him more like most other humanoids

Genetic Abilities: astoundingly strong earth control - this power appeared when he was quite young, thankfully, because with only two arms he could not master many normal activities. At first merely 'dirt and rocks', he has refined this power to command inorganic matter as long as it isn't already smelted or an alloy of some kind. So grains of sand, fine dirt (not soil, that's got too much organic matter in it), any and all naturally occurring stone, crystal, and ore - they obey him. He can lift small amounts (under 30 lbs) without even thinking about it, nearby (under 10 meters) but can press both the weight limits as well as distances if needed (up to 100 lbs, and up to 50 meters, though generally not both of those at the same time). Can alter and 'tune' crystals for technological purposes, which he's made a full time job from. He can sense through these substances, with crystals > ores and natural metals > stone and rock > dirt and sand in order of ability and distance, and has placed several crystals around the Caledrus to help him communicate and work remotely. Crystals don't have to be attached, but dirt, sand, ore, and stone otherwise must be connected to more of the same; but crystals can be sensed through at up to 500 meters!

Enhancements or Augmentations: none added, but he always has small sets of stones about 'fingertip sized' to allow him to type using his powers; he uses these almost unconsciously now, but had to practice with their use before being adept enough to 'pass' in Zeddian society
Skills or Profession: because of his ability to manipulate and telekinetically move virtually any form of solid or crystaline matter, Shuhuj is ideal as a resource manager, radio and communication officer, and basically repairman for a lot of the equipment on board that requires crystals and unaltered metals. He can fix wires (their metal, not any other properties) with a touch, and make changes to any radio equipment that's going into the field, so he's there whenever any drop parties are ready to go: he will tune their group of comm units and make the appropriate changes to the ship's receiver, so they always know exactly who is where and can communicate directly with the right groups while on planets. He also takes a lot of pride in making the displays for their computers and entertainment systems, pure crystals that easily pick up the electrical signals from wiring he's also created.
Personality: he will try, try try, and try again - and succeed eventually. Determined and sure of himself, and smart enough that he can assess his own abilities and figure out what's 'wrong' if he fails at a task, he's constantly working toward goals. He's not necessarily a perfectionist - he won't deny himself the victory of just succeeding 'once' at a hard task, it doesn't have to be 'perfect', just 'done'. This definitely changes when it's time for his job, because perfection is needed in that!

Events or History: Woodstock's crew has returned numerous times to Zedd, their 'deal' with the local governments has become quite profitable for everyone. When they got wind of a kid 'badly deformed from birth' but who applied for offworld assignment himself, they were all very curious. It was ironic then, that Woodstock was the one who greeted him... she with her four arms. Most of her crew don't have that feature, he's discovered. The first time he saw so many "mutated" two armed bipeds, he openly wept.

He's been with the Caledrus for 4 years now, and proven himself a capable crewmate for sure. But a lot of the crew have been whispering that perhaps, he could also try to find a dragon friend. He needs a little distraction, a bit of down time, something other than just his work to do all the time. And what better, than a dragon to care for, or maybe fly around a world with!

A completely white male quartz dragon  was the next to bond. He was quick-witted, curious and talkative and wasted no time in firing a bunch of questions at his intended:
"So what do you do? How do your powers work? Can I use them too now that we've bonded..."
At the look of confusion on Shuhuj's face the dragonet added: "And my name is Quark."

They are larger than I am by a lot, Quark bespoke, uncharacteristically subdued.

It was true though, the dragons in the Caledrus dome were often enough two or even three times bigger than this small pale dragon. But undeterred, Shuhuj indicated they should introduce themselves, and shortly Quark was chatting it up with a very wide variety of dragons!
