Name: Oman Awesomesauce
Gender: Male, about as straight as the path a butterfly takes
Age/DOB: 'adult', probably around 30 somehow managed to make it that far
Origin/Species: Appears to be a humanoid-hybrid Joilani, but how that could be possible is anyone's guess, and how he found his way off whatever world he's actually from (hatched? born?) is also a guess since he has been wandering the galaxy at large almost his entire life
Family: unknown and unclear, possibly genetically altered, spliced, or somehow miraculously paired naturally, and it's unlikely that one parent or grandparent was actually 'human'. Has entirely no recollection beyond 'antennae and wings' in his memories of them
Other: is absolutely going to be looked over by the Zekirans while they're on Planet Twenty, because this guy's genetics are a literal gold mine; whether he is capable of siring naturally, let alone being a parent or father, is also unclear
Height: around 5'4", 6' at the top of the antennae; Build: muscular appearing, not nearly as fragile as you'd think a butterfly guy would be
Hair: a mixture of teal and copper, quite shiny and metallic - which is very likely echoed in his wings which show a dull coppery shade too; hair is thick and heavy, but holds a form and can become messy, it is not 'hair', and bears more in common with a cat's whiskers or even Shard's hair... >_>
Eyes: huge and red, they are faceted and he can see a much wider range of wavelengths than a human can (the old image shows slightly different version but they are buggy); under 'surprised' looking brows
Appearance: has pale aquamarine skin that is quite even and unmarked, and looks overall like a 'kin-type' with a somewhat bulbous 'nose', he does have ears, they're slightly pointed; has bulbed antennae (unavailable in coh's character builder) and they can move slightly, tending to vibrate a little. He does have the typical arrangement of arms and legs, 5-fingered hands and 5 toed feet. His hands do have slightly 'clawed' fingers, and his feet have fine hairs to cling. He can fly with his wings, and he tends to wear comfortable clothing that either has an exposed back where his wings attach or are modified to allow them through. There is usually a bit of 'sparkle' around him, this is caused by his scaley wings, or maybe his powers, who knows? His voice is high and musical, usually quiet but can speak or even shout when he's excited. He smells of sweet flowers, heady plants or fresh cut grass, depending on the mood or needs

Genetic Abilities: As a hybrid he's probably able to pass traits of humanoid-types as well as the insect-like features shown.
-- Winged Flight; capable of hovering and flying with great agility and speed with his three sets of wings. They don't have a carapace but can fold downward as originally shown, but while in use they are upright. They can be damaged reasonably easily but also repaired quickly somehow, possibly just 'shedding them and growing them back'. He does make a very slight 'humming' sound with their motion, and there is a lot more glittery scale shedding when he's at full speed. (--Allergen Producer, if you're sensitive to small particles or 'insect' anything, this will trigger allergies.)
-- Clingy A Bit; his feet have hairy pads on them similar to some small insects but though he cannot actually 'walk on walls' with them, he does manage to 'root' himself in place if needed in a combat. His fingers have similar pads but are more functional, and he can hold on to small objects and just Not Let Them Go, plus has sharp but not large clawed tips rather than fingernails, he can use these claws to gently open membranes or thin materials, sharp enough to cause damage to unarmored skin, but not long enough to penetrate thick leather or other materials at all (though they'll definitely leave marks).
-- Extreme Senses; with antennae he can sense vibrations, chemical 'smells' that are more faint or intermittent than with his nose, and increase his 'hearing' range and refinement; his faceted eyes detect motion very easily and can sense the entire range of infrared through mid-ultraviolet in addition to the typical 'human-like' spectrum of colors. His vision might be qualified as 'pentachromic' or even higher quantities of color-detection, so when he says he can't describe the colors he's seeing in English or other languages, he means it...; his ears and hearing are quite sensitive (you can see his longer 'fae' like ears in the turnaround) though not so much that he is deafened by loud noises, more that he can distinguish and locate specific sounds at frequencies both above and below typical humanoids, and at a slightly greater distance without the use of his antennae.
-- Genrehop; Oman doesn't use an electronic Thumb or even a comm device to move between planets or dimensions. He just kind of shows up, usually in a cloud of smoke or spore dust, looking every bit as surprised that he's in a new place, as those seeing him arrive... He can control it, and definitely helps kids learn how to do it, but he's also got access to other people's wisdom and follows a course syllabus made by those with much better grasp on those other methods. He cannot take other people with him, however any dragon that has the power (which his does) will be able to easily understand where he wants to be, and take others too. Psionic Abilities: Added to the physical prowess he has, Oman is actively able to sense, locate, discern status, and grow or manipulate plant life and fungus, as well as having a little bit of a 'tuning' toward insects and pollinators and dragons overall. Most senses and controls work only within a small area of effect, about 50 meters in a sphere with himself at the middle.
-- Sense Plant Life; this power is always on and he can sense virtually any size of active living plant or spores of fungus. He can't necessarily detect 'mold' plants or algae, but with concentration could certainly try. This is always at his fullest scale of distance, but he just considers it 'part of what he knows, man'
-- Identify and Assess Plants; when he wants to isolate something specific, use a plant for other reasons, he can spot them even if it's a lush jungle or a large garden. He knows which plants are nitrogen-starved or overwatered, and generally this ability can be turned on and off at will, and are best done within arms' reach, but if he knows he put a root down somewhere within his sphere of senses, he'll be able to find it unerringly to make sure it's still doing well
-- Sprout and Grow, Stall and Maintain; a seed, spore, or any other already-fertilized plant can be put into a state of rapid growth as long as there is enough water and nutrients to support it at its final state. This doesn't have to remain in that state, as it might also wither and die quickly without his added modifications. Where you might get one season worth of food from a single plant, you might get two, or more; what would normally have taken a decade to mature, can grow from a sprout into a fully adult tree in a week! He does have to concentrate on this and apply his powers to whatever plants will be affected for at least an hour a day until he's satisfied with the results
-- Hybridize; you need a starchy fruit? you want a root that also has a seed pod? sure! Takes at least 3 generations to fully adjust and modify
-- Manipulate - size, shape, functionality; plants altered in this manner will produce better fruit, wood, or effects, grow more quickly in harsh environments, resist environmental or other effects, and basically remain alive longer than they would normally. They will also breed true, though it requires a few generations to 'fix' any issues that might arise because they might not always carry all the changes
-- Attack and Defense For Quick And Dirty Use; used mostly in Paragon City and for training in CHS, he can throw spores and seeds out and immediately grow them to a specific function. A pile of very sharp spikey roots acting as caltrops can slow a group's advance or retreat, a dome of heavy bark protects our heroes, vines writhe and wrap around enemies, and even a plant that pushes out psionic healing! Huge vines can slam into the ground and enemies get knocked back or down, or can be swept away in a rush of growth below their feet. The effects of these abilities last only a short time and then vanish, but he can replenish them within moments, so they're good for even extended combat
-- Control Hallucinogens; a field of spores that cause even higher level enemies to become confused or sedate, either ignoring the presence of the 'heroes' around them in a sort of daze, or becoming aggressive toward their own group. Some boss-level types may need repeated applications and may resist more quickly, usually the 'sleep' phase is broken by being attacked, but some minion-types just stand there like dummies...
-- Entrap and Immobilize; with concentration, several enemies can be held in place with vines around their legs, or even with their arms pinned to their body prevented from doing any attacking at all
-- Healing Abilities; there is a strong envigorating scent that comes from a plant that can aid in maintaining a team's endurance as well as offering a spore-cloud that replenishes health. How it does this is anyone's guess, but it definitely works, and can be put in the middle of a big group to selectively heal and bolster only his friends!
-- Mobile Carnivorous Attack Friend; somewhat like his Xenoplant dragon friends, this plant is marginally intelligent and actively mobile on tiny tendrils once it's fully 'cast' and grown. It will take damage and eventually will need to be replenished, but can be healed and envigorated by his other powers in combat
Note that all of these abilities will definitely be exploited while the Zekirans have anything to do with him, and they also all are part of his CHS routines! |
| Events or History: (original blurb)
"Could he be any cuter?" Woodie chuckled to one of the other 'hikers on her ship, and the other girl giggled. The delicately-winged and multiply-antennaed male had hitch-hiked onto the Caledrus (which was completely normal) but then had set up a base camp of sorts in the garden area near Airich's place (which wasn't completely normal). Airich's dragons were okay with this 'intruder', he wasn't exactly the sharpest crayon coloring that bulb...
But he was intuitive of things in a way that few others could match. Quiet in voice, but absolutely loud in terms of what he loved to do or hear. Maybe he was dropped on his head as a larva. Maybe his parents had flown too close to bug zappers... But this sweet hearted fellow wanted a dragon of his own, or maybe more.
Speaking in his normal drawl most of the time, occasionally Oman would speed up until he was almost hyperactively screeching, excitement about whatever particular thing made him spastic. Dragons were among those things, the thought of having one near him to call his own practically caused an aneurism.
So, Woodstock went out to find him a place to sit down with eggs or hatchlings or whatever there might be for him, pressed the coordinates into the 'drive and off they went.
(( originally he was given two XenoPlant hybrids, who served their purpose in distracting him for quite a while; however they are now residing on Planet Twenty and he's gone in search of others! ))
**2026**
He'd spent time all over the 'verse, somehow. Exploring the Galaxy at large, quietly sitting in on lectures at a vast Betelgeusian university, and the next afternoon taking tea with a panda professor on Twoarth. Oman also spent quite some time in a tangental location from there, Paragon City, as a 'hero'! His ability to shape and grow plants actually served well there, and so much shiny stuff kept his mind from wandering too far, plus he got to do good! At his heart, Oman is very much the healer and helper, really.
Tamezahe showed up just exactly at the right time and place. Was it the ship's Improbability drive? Or just Oman's luck working overdrive? After having dropped those hydra-xenos off and making sure that they had everything they needed (oh they didn't need much now, there were small animals to prey on, and also small dragons to protect!) ... he was sorta lonely.
But not for long, because wow. This violet and yellow dragon swooped down, and both of his heads looked at Oman, one on each side.
You'd like us to stay with you, wouldn't you? One head purred with a mind that felt like gently rubbing the petal of a rose.
"Of course you would," the other spoke in exactly the same quiet purr.
"Of course I would!" It was a rare moment when Oman could be heard actually discussing things with the dragon in the presence of others. Bonus points: Airich finally got his garden fully back, because Oman's was now sharing hammerspace with the Carramba High argiculture and Heroics department.

Dragon
Name: Tamezahe FilideZalectra (you gotta say it like 'ka me ha me ha' to get it 'right')(also his last name can just be FilideZalikra but he likes the flair of it this way)
Gender: Male
Size/Shoulder/Length: large shifter: bipedal 15' hip, or 17' shoulder quad / ~50' l / 80' ws; shifted ^humanoid 8' at heads
Colors: Purple - Pink - Yellow; body rich velvety violet with redder-pinkish violet belly and paw/fingers, with brilliant goldenrod-to-yellow markings as shown; armor more dull caramel-tan; neck and wing arm floof mottled violet, pink, yellow; wing feathers yellow and pink; heads and tail floof alternates all three
Features: Bipedal feather floof hydragon hybrid... as shown; see parents for alternate shapes/sizes
Powers: Winged Flight, 'impressive' is the word you'd want to use when watching this dragon fly. He is big and strong in any format, though more agile in his shifted more-biped-humanoid shape, his full dragon form is able to swing around buildings and around obstacles more easily than you could imagine even with an 80 foot wingspan. You do know he's been there, by the wake he produces at full speed, though. He can carry 'whoever can hang on' with the help of his modest Air Magic (below), and it's highly likely that that magic also aids him in getting off the ground in one large push, as well as landing without losing a single feather
Teleportation* local, Portal Creation long-distance/specific, Nexus Dimension Walking; wherever his bond wants to go, he'll bring the kids at CHS or visitors to the Caledrus there! You might have to hold on for dear life as he dives through a created portal - the only time you'll see your destination before you reach it
Telepathy* and Verbal Speech; One head is quiet, the other verbal, and it's anyone's guess which is which because they both mouth words when thinking... His voices are in full stereo however, and as such you will know where to look when he's talking to you even at a mile away. His voice is rich and full of flavor, very very much like a glass of sparkling grape juce
Air Magic; though this power is quite weak on its own, he uses it with very specific purpose in mind - getting off the ground, keeping people on his back, and reaching the landing spot without damage
Avengaean Functional Magic; this is clearly used when he wants to spiff up, and also can clean up the glittery allergens that both he and his rider leave behind, thanks Tame!
Shapeshifting (Parental^, Modified); he can shift into a more quadrupedal running form similar to his mother at a slightly larger size, or a more bipedal humanoid-sized Lectri-like, but is usually somewhere between these as shown above. If he needs to fly somewhere right now and doesn't need to carry anyone or anything, he'll show up in that humanoid-with-wings-and-tail shape, but leave himself room enough to shift back
Illusion Magic
and Invisibility; it seems that his rider actually helps with this, he's not 'invisible' so much as 'ignored', and the tiny spores and plant matter that Oman tosses around can settle on his fur and feathers, causing him to appear different colors or entirely too bright to look at. Tame's magic does work, but it's almost like they need each other for it to work well
*Psionic Suite carries together

Origin: Fur and Feathers Frenzy Chaos Redux by Phe
Other Info: After his stint in Paragon City, and visits to Planet Twenty as well as the original alternate dimension of Zekira, Oman teaches at CHS and that's usulaly where Tamezahe resides and works as well. They do double duty as plant-keepers and assistants on the Caledrus however, but Tame doesn't really visit too many folks at their other sites, just CHS and the ship.
