Powers	Heretic, Witch, Con Artist - When it was no longer needed to continue hiding their skill in magical manipuation, when the Void was being doled out in more generous amounts by Leviathan, the Dorsey family jumped on that bandwagon very quickly indeed. Unusual in a coven, it was his father's line that had the stronger magic skills, and he passes that skill along in his son. Daren's mother is an alchemist, a more traditional potion maker, trained at the Academy as an herbalist and pharmacologist, and she also enjoys teaching their hot-headed son everything she can - 'for free' so no one has to take a chunk from their savings... All this means is that Daren can create spells that can be written or rituals that are carried out, but also has an innate supply of energy from the Void that is useful for the everyday efforts of a charming asshole like himself. Note this lineage and constant input gives him a ^Freebie Cluster for magic use -- Get The Blood Pumping - if there's anything that his family does well it's 'get excited' about things. Food, drink, dancing, hunting, sex, shopping, you name it. Daren can incite a person specifically to be incredibly foolish and brave, rushing into whatever event is happening without regard for their own safety. He doesn't use this on his friends, though he has tested it on them... The effects wear off within about 15 minutes but by that time everything else will be hoppin and who'll be the wiser? -- Homing Instinct - Daren can all but sniff out a trail back to where he belongs. Whether that's the homeroom after getting turned around in a lunch rush, his home dimension if several are available to travel to, or his current digs with the others in their very-nice apartment near the beach. This ability is effectively always-on but he can also 'tune' it to specific things, locations, people, or even moments in time. He can pair this with his 'Howl' to go there instantly as well -- Howl - This power is a sonic 'spoken' one, but that speech is a high pitched long, full breath of a wolf-howl. He seems to vanish from sight as people look up and around wondering where the noise is coming from, and by the time the howl has finished, he's long gone. Consider it a teleport to any location known to him within 10 miles, or with line of sight, and can be used several times in short order for quick trips across town. He cannot bring anyone with him on these jaunts, however, but he can leave 'markers' if you're a teleporter that will act as a beacon to follow for an hour or so -- You Absolutely Love/Loathe Him - all those hearts and stars, oh my goodness they're really real? He even smells delicious if you happen to like bbq garlic rub and fresh steak. That said there are people who simply won't like him under any circumstance, and this innate charisma fails to 'click' in their hearts. He can get money out of a con man, blood from a stone, change your will to include him, he's from a line of absolutely awful people, but he does know better than to use those nasty things on folks who don't somehow deserve it. Any person who hasn't met him, can be swayed and will remain so, even if Daren does things right in front of them that would normally be off limits Also, Filthy Rich - his family has made a very, very large fortune from all the weird shit that's gone on in the last 50 odd years in the Dunwall area. He will benefit from this directly, in the form of affording basically anything he needs on any dimension, the exchange rates for things that are common there but super rare here? Oh that's very, very good... He will give his friends the best he can offer. He doesn't expect them to pay him back, other than having his back later. Anyone else? It's either a tax write-off, investment, or bribe depending on the situation
Clusters 24	Animal And Plant Mastery +5 His family in another dimension would go on to become incredibly powerful pharma and mineral magnates, and in his own this is also true. But at its core, that knowledge and expertise is from rooting around with... well, roots and creatures. Daren can be trusted with animals, he's not one of those horrible people that pulls legs off bugs or abuses creatures just for the fun of it. He reserves the abuse for people, no lie. But he can spot blight on a plant, or whether an animal is in heat or injured just with a glance. He also is able to claim a green thumb, in addition to that red-blooded howling he does causing some animals to follow his commands very closely ^Arcane Sensibilities +3 The Dorsey family has a vast array of magical gear, goods, medicinals and spell books, plus bonecharms and runes, ancient carvings and hidden treasures. All of which Daren explored and was exposed to from his earliest moments. He can detect magic of any type, though he can also tell whether something is an inherent ability, a granted power, a cast spell or enchantment, or something 'magic-adjacent' like psionics or Vortal energies. He detects the world in a much more colorful array of ways, smelling the scent of an old ward on a doorknob, tracing the energy of a spell that blistered through the air a century before, or even whether a specific item or animal part is 'good' for some magical use Glitter Is An Allergen +3 Whether it's dog or cat dander, plant spores, butterfly wing scales, or just plain 'dust', or actual glitter, Daren can expertly judge who is going to be affected by this and in what ways just by giving them a once-over visually and magically. He can concoct a brutal array of 'assault party poppers' to get back at people who did something against people he likes, or distribute enchanted-poppyseed covered bagels that allow mellowing out and healing along with their morning meal. But either way, he understands how some bits affect other bits, and plans accordingly
Skills 18	People Person Who Hates People Who Hate People +3 Apparently this also follows in his 'AU' family line, the love of gathering and collecting people. Not just to hang out with or even to make plans with. But sometimes to set up a betrayal, enact revenge, or get a confession from. He is extremely good at lulling people into a sense of comfort and then just absolutely gutting them with ... words! Words, with words. >_> If he knows that there's a bad person around, and that person can be proven to be bad, Daren will work both with and around the law, to make sure that they pay for their crimes once they admit them... Because that towel does show off his handsome torso, and the beanie matches his hair and eyes! More though, this skill allows him to pick and choose what impression he's going to be making when he enters a room, a dance floor, or the DJ booth Dance ParTAY +3 Unlike some posers that show up to a disco era party wearing sock-hop duds, Daren provides a much needed 'focal point' at any gathering using modest magic spells to animate that actual glitter, though his friends have powers that can do it too! Got a wall flower friend? Lure them out with this, their favorite song, and holding this, their favorite flower... go, do it! Now get on that floor and jam!

You don't want to be on the receiving end of it because it often hits very deep indeed Definitely Arrogant But He Deserves It +3/-2 If there was ever someone that had the spotlight on him perhaps at the expense of someone else, it's him - he just likes to pick and choose who he's stealing it from well before anyone else understands. Until that understanding, that lightbulb going off when that person has their petty little meltdown maybe blaming their own 'best friends' of things that were not their doing... he'll go along with the idea that sometimes he has to be the bad guy to be the good guy

Other Info	The Raver Mages have an home by the beach, actually on a more exclusive part of said beach with a cliff-side edifice that was apparently brought from Dunwall at some point, with entrances for their dragons built below over the waves. It's entirely possible that his connection to the Void and thus Leviathan brought some other people in on this, because his family home is still in Dunwall right there While the words 'casual cruelty' get batted around regarding Daren, it's really only by the people who haven't yet figured out who he's trying to 'hunt' and expose
