Powers: Winged Flight, Detriath is fast, flies hard, and can maintain his course and do tricks even in hurricane or blizzard conditions. Teleportation (local, nexus, temporal), Because his rider is adept at moving between dimensions he's learned to keep up! Of course he can't actually shapeshift himself but knows when to follow her into wild locations, and when to hold back, based purely on what he sees in her mind. Because what she sees = where they're going! Locally he can blip between spots as small as 10 meters apart or as distant as a thousand miles (with exhaustion that follows). He doesn't tend to try moving between times, because that would just complicate everything; he's capable of it, but doesn't like doing so
Verbal Speech and Telepathy, Though he doesn't use as many of those big weird words, Detriath understands pretty much all of the same things that his rider knows, he just likes to keep it a little more simple. But he definitely has a good technical knowledge of dimensional terms so if someone is 'out there somewhere' he can ask specific questions and give sound advice about how to return home safely. His mental voice is clear, heady - like red wine, and for any dragons that he speaks to mentally they are very much drawn to him for some reason...
Sway Dragons (empathy + control specifically over light and dark breeds of Court), though this must be consciously activated for specific uses, he does seem to just have a way with dragons overall, and particularly those of the Courts his breed was meant to temper. He is a very good mediator, and if there is an argument between dragons, not just Light and Dark Courts, he will put his mental foot down and put that discussion on ice until everyone's heads are clear
Blood-Activated Elemental Magic, those fangs his type have... and that he displayed so proudly as a little hatchling? They produce a very fine hole or impale mark, from which blood can be drawn. His own, usually, he'll reach to his own shoulder and nip - that's how his blood magic works anyway, he's not sure whether it's like that for others. His specialty with weather and atmospheric conditions, and wards or protective spellcasting, aid in the Gun Safety course, as well as being on quite a lot of the time during exploration of other dimensions or planets. He's got a whole bunch of students that his bond teaches, under his wings, for a reason
