![]() The Fire Gang
There were three of him in the conference room, but only one of them was markedly easier to distinguish. That was because Knot-leaf Kale-baah was a fur-sider, and it was hard to miss his elegantly upturned horns and long tuft-ended tail. But it was equally hard to miss his similarities to the other two in their posture, their mannerisms, and eerie turquoise-colored eyes. Under other circumstances, the two human...ish men would have born more of a resemblance thanks to their clothing, but at the moment, only Keenan Lane was in his suit-and-tie. His alternate heroic-instructor version was in a colorful and delightfully sweet-scented 'churro' costume. The other man was a burly, not quite portly grey-skinned Zekiran, human enough, but clearly also not. The others in the conference room were hardly less exotic than Kale-baah, but all of them had things in common with one another. Obviously first off, they were students, not instructors or staff. But their instructors had each noted they shared two overlapping courses among them. Nachos' Algebra class, and Paveh's Men In Black career training. Once they got others in on this it was also clear that this foursome of students had far more in common than just that: Fire. They weren't pyromaniacs like some students, far from it (well, maybe not all of them were that far). They all had their own type of fire magic or power, from the Bender to the wizard, and the weirdly heroic to the just plain weird. Of course, Matoko would never want to hear herself being called 'just' or 'plain' or even 'weird'. So they kept that to themselves, those who were looking over this batch of students. It was decided that they needed some specific guidance, or at least a specific guidance councelor to represent them should any of their antics go wrong. While they did have a few 'solo' classes, they all overlapped in most of them so it was easier to keep eyes on them at all times. Paveh hinted that they would make an incredibly good field team, though for doing exactly what he couldn't define just yet. He helped hook them all up with a group that allowed them to communicate with their parents and families back on each respective dimension or home planet, though only one of them didn't require that as he was reasonably 'local'. Since they were mainly magical in nature as well, another of Lane's 'group' was called in. Not yet a professor here, Nash Darnell would prove to be the right choice in keeping them both on track and under wraps when needed if they were sent out on missions. Nash would use them later as an 'in' to become said professor, shhh more time-based shenanigans were afoot. |
