Name: Matt Perkins, sometimes 'manhack Matt' due to his penchant for taking down Combine scanners and hacks

Gender: Male, Straight

Age/DOB: 30s / early 1990s?

Origin: Rookery Earth, Portland Oregon

Family: Was a pre-teen when the Resonance Cascade ruined things, and lost most of his family to its subsequent portal storms within a few years; had a relationship with a woman in one of the various Cities he's spent time in, but she isn't likely alive any longer (Notably, he's been spliced with Aretha, their daughter Janice is happy to help at Rapture as well, spliced because Mel needed to get rid of those bad tags below)

Other: part of the Shorepoint rescue group, definitely interested in settling down and enjoying his life, hopefully someone down here in Rapture will think a guy like him is worth being with?

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 170, lean and muscular from a lot of Outlands work and less food than he ought to have, but with time and comfort he will likely regain more bulk and end up around 200, all of that muscle

Hair: Black, slightly greying, very short kept natural afro

Eyes: hazel brown, does require distance glasses, but anything closer than 10 feet is easily seen; expressive eyebrows

Appearance: dark brown skin, with scars and a bit of darkening around his eyes due to diet; he's a tall and strongly built man, with a calm and pleasant voice, and prefers to be able to change out of 'work clothes' into something nicer after a good long hot shower. His Black Mesa gear is only marginally suitable to his duties in Rapture, but few of the clothes there fit him decently.

Genetic Abilities: None overtly, but it's clear he has a good grasp on machinery and engineering

Icarus Processing: none, and wouldn't be suitable due to negative genetic tags - Melissa doesn't think that should dissuade them from 'splicing him up' with an appropriate partner, as she could easily get rid of those dangerous markers in the lab...

Skills or Profession: Maintenance on Rapture equipment, plumbing and heating, is attempting to learn how the bigger airlock mechanisms work and where their own equipment was stored, he's running low. Also note that he's a demon with a pipe wrench (or a pipe, or a piece of wood, or a baseball bat, or a Combine stun stick, or...) with close quarters melee combat, and has a massive collection of spare parts gathered from scanners, eyebots, manhacks, as well as headcrab beaks and assorted pelts of still-existing animals he's killed. He kind of likes taxidermy, but... he's not very good at it? Don't go in his den.
Personality: Careful and honest, Matt wants to protect what he's got now, because he's already lost so much. He knows, however, that merely keeping his head down and nose to the grindstone would only lead to death and destruction - he joined the rebels because they stood for things that he doesn't want to lose in life: freedom, choice, that kind of thing. While he does pummel the crap out of any small creature (for food or defense) or machines attacking the area, he always - always - gives a shout first, when there are humans involved. If the soldiers are fully converted he's learned to forego this, because they simply aren't Human any more. But Civil Protection? They're just people under those helmets and gear, and he'll be damned if he takes a human life casually.
Events or History: had spent time in City 97 before it fell, was transported over to one of the Chinese Cities after the Combine arrived. He was between locations long enough that he knew there were pockets of resistance, but they were often only seen from the windows of a train. Until they started sealing up the train cars...
Had been a lookout for the Shorepoint refugees for a while, obviously that ended with the onslaught by the Combine, but now he's got a much better gig down under the ocean. While he works on the inside, Squeegee does his part to maintain the exterior so the glass and any machinery isn't covered with guck or algae.
Also amusing to him is that he's from the same part of the country that Gordon Freeman, David Hoyle, and Rachel Cooper are, and though he is from the ruined version of them and a bit younger than any of them, they still all have fond enough memories of the area that they can compare and contrast this tree or that woodland. It's likely that Hoyle will ask him to help repair and maintain the Enclave if and when it gets put into this dimension.

Dragon

Name: Squeegee
Gender: Male
Size/Shoulder/Length: Medium-Small 9' s / 44' l / 90' ws
Colors: underside, backs of limbs, rim of wingsails foggy blue-grey; face, neck, sides, limbs, tail, and wing arms light sky blue; body has medium green 'cell' scales and tail markings; back armor from nose to tail is light blue; wingsails and spine webbing starts medium blue and grades into greenish-yellow with spatters blending (sails only); dorsal spines a slightly lighter shade of medium blue; eyes brown, claws dark grey
Features: Leaf-Seawing Hybrid, Leaf dominant, four long muscular legs with 5 and 4 short curved claws; two leathery 'leaf veined' wings with 4 visible fingers, elbow strut, strong wrist thumb all with short curved claws; body is scaled, with even armor under chin to tail tip, sides are very tiny scales with semi-decorative 'bark' scale armor, plating from nose to tail on back, head is dished and angular with a prominent noce hook, chin lures, jaw nubs, external ears, prominent eye ridges, and two elegant long upturned horns, from head to rear back spines with seaweed emulating webbing, individual spines with fins down tail, tail ends with similar webbing, also behind legs
Powers: Winged Flight, Underwater Gliding; though obviously able in the air, Squeegee is much more powerful under water than he is in the air, because he doesn't have to expend energy to 'hover' while in water. In the air, he can reach staggering heights and speeds with very powerful wing beats, and is able to lift much more than it seems a 'simple leafwing' ought. Though he is fast, he's not that maneuverable in the air, again because normally he likes using the water to his advantage. Below the surface, however, he is equally speedy - which is saying a lot. But also he's superbly suited to starting and stopping, turning on a bubble, and eluding even fast predators while out-pacing the fastest prey. He can drag remarkably heavy items down on the seafloor, but prefers to let the much bigger and burlier Sea and Mudwings do that.
Underwater Adaptation, that one Seawing grandsire apparently contributed a strong ability to exist in the water. It doesn't appear that Squeegee has gills, but that's absolutely never slowed him down, if he's ever had to come up for air, no one's seen it, he just does it. He can easily breathe both water and air, a feature which some of the local dragons find quite impressive. He doesn't much like the absolute chill of open ocean, or that found up in the Arctic circle, but can tolerate it long enough to get work done there to an extent. He'd rather sit up on the Borealis shivering in the chill air, than dive there. But he does love the thermal vents near Rapture, and like some other dragons will be found near them on off-hours. Also Squeegee's vision in the water is as amazing as his 'flight' there, he's able to spot individual minnows among schools of fish.
Verbal and Visual Communication, like many dragons he can speak dialects of Draconic and Aquatic, but also English, he certainly understands Vort better than many but cannot sense their telepathic undertones in any way. His voice is deeper than you'd expect out of a Leafwing, but much higher and warbly compared to a Seawing's. Though he cannot alter the colors of his patterns or scales, he has learned how to 'flash' the lighter bits of his wings in ways that can alert those inside Rapture to any oncoming dangers outside. He's even learned how to fold his wings in 'letters', a sort of draconic pinafore.
Photosensitive Energy Collection, with the biggest part of his line being Leafwings, it's clear that Squeegee's ability to collect energy from sunlight is a good one. He can sometimes be found floating on the surface of the ocean, wings spread as wide as they'll go, head down in the water asleep. He looks like more seaweed, not a dragon, and has never been in any danger from this. He likes to warm up before a day's work, though in winter months he does have to rely more on the thermal vents instead since the weather often precludes this charging-up.
Parentage: Unknown Leafwing parents, with one Seawing grandfather

Other Info: A happy, cheerful dragon, more than adept at his duties outside the facility at Rapture, and thinks the name that his little human friend chose for him is hysterical. It's also accurate: he 'does windows' quite well. Though he's not very technically minded, he does appreciate the work that his friend does, and the others inside Rapture as well. It's not uncommon to find his curious eye peeking into the area from outside as he works. It's due to him that a lot of the transport areas are clear of rubble, he's smaller and sleeker than the big full Seawings, and can reach spots that they cannot, so they do the big work, while he comes in and details it up.
