Name: Leia Vickers Gender: Female, gay Age/DOB: 31 / 2249 Origin: Vault Earth, Commonwealth, Diamond City Family: wife Dora Vickers, son (adopted) Daryl Other: though Leia and Dora have adopted Daryl they are quite interested in what Melissa and Rhea are offering them - they can have their own actual kids? really? Height: 5'7" Weight: 130, slender and lean, curvy hips, slinky Hair: brick red, somewhat dry and stiff, shaved and in the fashion of one-brow-covered, kept to neck length Eyes: dark brown, small and close set, with expertly applied liner Appearance: tan skin that bronzes well in sunlight, she is quite pretty, with no visible scars. She likes looking very dapper, and the outfits that were brought from Nuka World make her old gear look shabby indeed, Dora likes to tailor her special things using some of their new goods; has a bit of a twang to her voice, probably picked up from listening to old radio plays on Galaxy News Network Genetic Abilities: she has a strong amount of empathy, though it's mainly reception and not projected; people feel comfortable around her, and she gets a good idea of their needs or wants within proximity. Running a general store seems like the best way to get an idea of who does need what, too Icarus Processing: none, and she has already agreed that any children that are engineered with Dora will be treated, even if there's only marginal effects possible |

Skills or Profession: very good with numbers, Leia is the general store and trade expert of the Settlement. She is able to make lists and keep track of supplies, organizational skills and communication are her forte. She also seems to have a lot of luck just 'finding the right thing' for someone, as they pass through the Commonwealth, though whether this is a skill or a power, who knows? She's got good mapping skills, and enjoys collecting old maps and comparing them to newer ones.
Personality: while working with customers she is very polite and proper - but if you cross her, be warned. She has a temper and won't hesitate to tell you exactly what she's thinking. She is protective and strong willed, enough so that when 'people' put up a bit of a fuss with her marrying Dora back at Diamond City, 'people' got a blistering ear-full of the finest cursing the Commonwealth could offer.
Events or History: They came in together, with a pack brahmin and their defenses bristling. Dora and Leia and their son Daryl looked exhausted on arrival, and were given immediate treatment for the radiation burns they'd garnered when traveling. Trinity sighed as she dabbed ointment onto Daryl's cheek. It would heal just fine, but he was still shaking from it all. "So they were definitely using gamma guns," Trinity said, "shabby robes, yelling nonsense about fusion and zealotry... Children of Atom?" She added, and saw in the corner of her eye, Leia nodding. "Yeah, the Children of Atom are still out there. I don't know where they even set up camp any more. Used to be they were in that one crater over by the coast, or down south in the Glowing Sea, but they've been more bold recently." It probably had to do with Levi taking off, even briefly. But that was out of their hands, and now at least that meant that the defensive forces of the Minutemen would be set to work on either subduing or ... removing that recurring threat. While some of their encampments were peaceful, seeking only their own salvation in the eyes of their unusual 'god', many were not. If they were out and about interfering with trade caravans that would become a problem. Thankfully, Leia could pinpoint exactly where along their route they were ambushed. "We'll get them out of the way," Trinity said, while Daryl went back to his other mother Dora to be cuddled. Leia and Trinity looked over a map that she'd brought out, for just such a purpose, plotting further movements around the Commonwealth to support this new Settlement. "We didn't lose anything in the process, either way," Leia commented, glancing at her son and wife. "Might have gone differently. I'm glad it didn't." They had merely run - shooting behind them as they did so, but running none the less. "I hope that ... they don't follow our tracks." "It wouldn't really be their style," Trinity said. "They generally just ambush and pull back. I still wonder whether they have scouts that are much more organized than I was led to believe." "It wouldn't surprise me," Leia said, looking at that map and tapping two locations, "they were never in this area before, or that one, and before we gathered up our gear and left Diamond City I'd been hearing tell they were holed up in the ruins. If you have new hot spots on that," she nodded toward the Pip-boy on Trinity's arm, "they might be to blame." "Noted," Trinity said. "Well look, you can set up later. For now, just get tucked in. Have some dinner, Alice is bringing something up for you." "Thanks," Leia said. "And thank you for... well, understanding." "I understand not wanting to lose family, Leia, that's the most important thing we have, isn't it?" "It is," Leia said quietly, watching as Dora smoothed down Daryl's messy hair and swayed with him. "It is." |

Tartan the Supermutant was so very, very proud of the nest of eggs that her dragon had sired! It was hardly a surprise, he was actually one of the more popular dragons of the Vault too! When he'd gone out the first time he was quite successful and knew his business. The second, why, it was clear that was still true. "Another that requires being present at the hatching," Trinity said, to the gathered Searched members of the Vault. Rialoth himself however sniffed over Leia and decided that she would be the one for this clutch. Though not a searcher himself, the dragon was quite confident. "You'll come back in time for breakfast," Trinity promised, mostly looking at Dora and Daryl, since the family would be impacted by any of them leaving for a length of time. Their duties in the Vault were quite important. "In... time for- okay, well." Leia had to shrug it off. She wasn't really certain how any of that dragonry stuff worked, but she'd soon find out. Rialoth brought her and his rider to White River Weyr, and Tartan definitely stepped out for a while, having found a den - a 'weyr' - somewhat disused down below most others, and where she would not disturb any of the more normal Human inhabitants. The hatching occurred only after a few weeks time, and in that time Leia did a crash course on the needs of a Pernese dragon. Her wife's bond wasn't this kind, and had come to the Vault as a young adult. But these... they would need care, feeding, washing and medical checks. But the moment that Leia arrived to the sands where those eggs were growing harder by the hour it seemed, she felt something. In her very core, she knew there was a dragon nearby, waiting, scoping people out somehow even from within the shell. They were allowed brief moments to linger near the eggs, move among them, and it was definitely that egg right there, she could pinpoint it even though they were all basically 'egg colored'. Some were, however, much larger than others, and this one... Well, it was the smallest. Their last visit before the eggs hatched, she made note of that fact, other eggs had far outstripped this one for size. Well that was fine, at least according to its inhabitant, because on hatching, he was able to move more easily, find his one with clear faceted eyes through the mountain of bigger shells. "You're lovely," Leia whispered, her mind finally full with the dragon's greeting, "Asohyth." How would they be back 'before breakfast'... Well, eventually she'd learn. For now, however, that crash course in dragon care was going to be put to the test daily for almost six more months! When at last they were confident in their skills as rider and flier, teleportation had been mastered, and Asohyth could hunt for himself and required only the careful eye of a rider who knew her bond if they got into scrapes, they returned with Rialoth again as their guide. It is very different here, Asohyth asserted, checking the odd not-trees, buildings that defied description even before they had fallen into ruins 200 years before. But there are many people, people you trade with! "Yes, but... it's breakfast time, isn't it?" Leia laughed because she could smell bacon and toast on the wind from the upper Atrium's farmer-oriented kitchen! They had gotten back merely a day after leaving. She did know, now, how that worked, but it would not be something they'd attempt again. She was home, and she intended to keep that home close. |
