Name: Amberbell Gender: Female, she/her, decidedly not straight Age/DOB: appears 17ish, RY12 and aged after birth Origin: Rookery Earth, Rapture facility Family: ELL base, with Yanell specifically and Jade as a side, thus she has several half-siblings on both sides of those, and actual grandparents to boot (Delia and Lee; Eden and Clay); Harebell is her half-sister in this batch Other: currently placed at the Bayou at the Rookery Height: 5'4" at best, 5'5" with the sprouts... Weight: looks way curvier than her 100 lb weight would indicate thanks to Icarus Hair: medium brown with sprouts! no really they're actually semi-plant material and can be plucked and planted... Kept short and stylish but would grow thick and slightly wooly with a strong wave Eyes: pale blue with a slight aqua green tint, heavy lashes Appearance: richly tanned skin that bronzes in the sun, hip-heavy build harkening back to grandma Eden's; is quite pretty and petite; wears unusual layered dresses and comfortable outfits reflecting her namesake flower Genetic Abilities: designed to be good with plant matter and environmental issues, but with a strong base of plant sensitivity and control. She has a modest empathic ability with any Vortal mind up to 100 meters away, and at close range can get a little hint at the moods of normal people as well, but has no further telepathic ability beyond connections to the other ELLs. Her sensing ability works on everything from bacteria and fungi to woody trees and even coral or algae, though she tends to work with mushrooms and flowering plants most, able to coax them to maturity or flower at will, and heal any of their damaged parts with proximity. However, she also is able to shape vines and creepers, small roots, and mold, which she can cause to become enmeshed as a lattice, growing full walls of tiny beautiful flowers and moss, or causing fruit or bread mold to shrink and vanish entirely. Her moss walls are known for their insulation properties and she has put effort into helping grow hardy, trample-resistant grass for cooling the main Rookery public areas - yes they have grass! now, anyway! And yes she can actually put seeds onto her hair and 'grow' them, she's a walking chia pet |

| Icarus Processing: yes, while being mixed in the lab, to enhance the base ELL genes and bring out more of the donor genes. This process strongly enhanced her Vortal abilities and reduced her weight by a decent margin, her strength and speed are slightly higher than normal but not chart-worthy, but her senses of touch, taste, and smell are strongly enhanced, enough to distinguish organic compounds at their molecular level; she is durable particularly with different climate influences, going from the moist and warm Bayou to the arid, hot Rookery nearby does take a toll on most folks. But her skin doesn't dry out and she doesn't get sweaty from either extreme | |
| Skills or Profession: She is responsible for food storage and safety in the Bayou and Rookery 'moist zones', monitoring for spoilage and even harvesting fungal and mold growth for other purposes around the area. She has a strong set of skill downloads for environmental machinery and while she doesn't 'repair AC units' she knows how to make sure they are working correctly in the right locations. Artistic and with a good knowledge of architecture and integrated living spaces. Also quite stylish, with good color theory which she uses in creating room spaces that look lovely as well as serve for climate control | |
| Personality: attentive to details, cheerful but not overly in anyone's face about it; stylish, in a relaxed and lovely casual way | |

Events or History: as with the rest of her 'group', the B-ELLs, she was created with a specific function for the Rookery in mind, and she lives up to those expectations with class and gusto. She has a 'dorm' in the Bayou but it's not like you'd typically imagine - not a hut or shack, no, it's a hobbit-hole styled lushly lined cave in the canyon wall near the opening to the true Bayou area. It's where she does some of her experimental work, with scents and textures in square spots along the walls or floor. *** "I like this 'trick or treaty'," Amberbell commented to her 'sisters'. They had noticed when one of them, Intrell, was pulled into a doorway - but it was one of those glowing portals, not theirs, but they easily all recognized when one of the Keenans had done something funky. She'd be back later, with her own dragon! Literally later in the night, with a full-grown dragon that she'd spent two years somewhere raising. Time was wonky, no one gave it a second thought either. But for the rest of the group, they enjoyed their night on the Rookery's 'town', going from dorms to refugee floors to Dry Harbor for some (more) drinks, and then out to the Ranch. After Intrell's sudden departure, Amberbell sniffed the air. "Smells like... moss? Not quite stagnant water?" The others glanced around, some of them able to also detect 'a thing' out of place. And then on investigating further, a barrel nearby with rainwater (or some kind of water was in it from some direction, maybe not from the rain they barely got) shook a little. Amberbell fiddled with the barrel's slightly-stuck lid, and then out popped a small green head! "What are you doing in there?" She exclaimed, "and how did you even get in there? Where are you from?" It tilted its head, whether that was because it was unsure of how to answer, couldn't answer, or didn't really understand English yet, no one was sure. But what was obvious was that Amberbell would want to find a better place for it than a barrel in the desert! |

With her placement down by the Bayou, it was obvious that the little eel-like swimmer she'd found would be much more at home in the thick overgrowth and imported wetland that the Lanes had moved from 'somewhere else' into the canyon by the Rookery. There were other dragons there, but this one did seem to want to be alone most of his time. As he grew, feeding on the many offworld-born leeches and other dangers that sprang up in the waters, he spent more time lurking on the thick roots or even in the tree branches above the water. Gaining his name by that act, though whether he would really come when Amberbell called it, who knows... "Leapfrog," she said, "come on, look we've found something for you!" It was certain that he now understood those words! Always up for a bite! "You've been so good with clearing all that debris with the runoff tunnels from the Mesa," Amberbell continued, "but look what showed up inside?" She held up a big clear plastic bag - it was nearly the same size as she was, and so was the eel-thing inside it. It wriggled and looked like it wanted to bite, but the bag was definitely stronger than its sucker-filled mouth. Leapfrog's eyes narrowed and focused on it, and Amberbell quickly released the thing into the water below the dock. There was not going to be any danger to her or the house guests, not once Leapfrog popped himself down under with barely a splash... they could hear him scraping with his horns and clearing a little space, looking, looking, and *sploosh* there went the eel... |
