Zuri Sabah Female, age 18 Hair - black; Eyes - reddish-brown; Skin Tone - dark brown Preferred Clothing - robes and long dresses, but will not put on a headscarf as she's a non-believer in her mother's religion. She likes silks and cottons equally, and loves a single color against either black or white. Specialties - Charms and flashy spells which are aided by her own pyrokinetics. Zuri adeptly incorporates her wand use with performances and music, not quite like a conductor's baton, but very close. Weaknesses - though she's not truly of the Muslim faith, she holds very strong beliefs based upon them, and still has a hard time dealing with any Dark Arts. However she does feel the need to report any and all use of them around her, even if that need is based more on supernatural fear than a sense of duty. Wand - Familiar - See below Dragon - none yet Unusual Studies - Zuri is a natural pyrokinetic, meaning she can produce or manipulate fires at will, without using any spellcasting. This power appeared before she was sent to Domina, and is part of the reason why she knows consciously that magic and religion are not the same thing. She can produce shapes, very bright light, or even 'cool fire' which can be touched and not harm anyone. She's gotten quite good with those. Bonding from - Holic (last available link) Doll from - Dress Up Challenge 2025: Is now with Wonder's Wonders instructing magically-aided gymnastics and artistic dancing, and also has a third 'friend'! |

Zuri was vain, but then she knew she deserved to be. She'd gotten a late start in her magical schooling, so she was a year older than many in her class. But she studied as hard as any, got terrific grades on her mundane classes as well as her magical ones, and eventually passed her grade testing with flying colors. Her father was proud of her too - but her mother would always remain stand-offish and quiet around her magical daughter. Mistrustful of such things, her mother refused to visit House Domina on open days, even if her father was happy to come and see the place. She'd probably flip out, they decided, if she knew that House Domina also was a dragonry of sorts... They had the typical selection of magical animals on hand: unicorns in the forest, some kind of monster in the lake nearby, ghosts aplenty. But they also had dragons that were unearthly in nature, and some even able to perform the same kinds of magic as the Wizards could. Though Zuri did want to find a dragon, it wasn't necessarily to fly on. She wanted to be able to perform safely, so maybe there was some kind of creature that could serve as a familiar, rather than a mount. She'd want one of those too, perhaps, but not just yet. For now, she was content to listen to the dragon-riders tales of this location or that place... Waiting to hear about one in particular. Holic was it's name, and though it had sustained some "interesting" times, it was open for business once more. Zuri watched through one of the instructors' scrying mirrors, as they tuned in on what might be in store there. Zuri was startled to see gorgeous cat-fox-ish creatures staring right back at her. "Those," she said, "what are those?" "Those are Zalor," Professor el-Din said. "They're so very pretty, but I've got my hands full with my own fluffballs already." One of those fluffballs lept from the rafter to his shoulder, gnawed on his hair, and scampered away again. Zuri however couldn't take her eyes off the elegant, smoothly moving animals in her view. "I have to go there," she said, confidently. "Then we shall take you there," Photha replied with a smile. Zuri knew he was attracted to her, but then...who wasn't. And, who wasn't he attracted to! Shortly, Zuri was packed up and ready, and they moved through one of Professor Kalkin's portals. It took less than an hour for Zuri to root out two extremely beautiful Zalor to come home with her. *** Baridi and Kali were named for the cold and the heat - and they lived up to their names. What Kali could do beyond that wave of warmth was patrol the edges of any given area unseen, or practically so. Baridi was good for cooling things down if the pyrokinetics or spells got out of hand, landing a gentle rain over the nearby area. And though he grew to the size of a horse, Zuri couldn't even imagine riding him - he was just too sleek and delicate, in her eyes, and she wasn't sure how best to ride anything - in a dress! |

Name: Baridi Name: Kali -- The Zalor are a mammal breed, typically feline in looks that range from less than a foot tall to 10 feet tall. They come in every color of the rainbow, and every marking as well. They are magical creatures, drawing their strength from the phases of the moon. During a new moon, they are rather weak, having nothing to draw their power from, and during a full moon, they are the most powerful, but must be careful, otherwise they could draw too much power into themselves and overload their system.. They have live litters of kits, usually 1 - 5 at a time, and Wild Zalor are able to be domesticated. They are omnivores, eating almost anything, and some have a strong sweet tooth. They are dynamic in character, acting as pets, possessions, companions, or even their own character. They are compatible with just about everything as long as size is not an issue, but even that can be gotten around. |

(( 2025 addition)) She'd graduated with honors and was practicing 'magical gymnastics' regularly when the school moved from one dimension to the next. Zuri's skills on the ground and with her magic were very well recieved by the locals down in SoCal, the mountain magical township of Wonder had a need for a flexible teacher and she fit the bill. Not just 'physically' flexible, she could fill in for most basic magical elementary-level teachers when they needed time off, and was quite popular among those with elemental-based powers like her own pyrokinetics! Because they'd moved from a more uppity and hidden-magic Earth to one where it was not only well known that some folks were just magically inclined, there were... gods, real ones. Monsters too. Kaiju in the oceans and ... those oceans didn't stop just because there was a second orb attached! Furry people, oh how they were intriguing to Zuri and she knew that if her family could see them... they would respond badly. But she only sent letters, and sometimes she could face-time her father when the dimensiongates were right. He never knew that she was not even on his home earth any more. "Such secrecy," Diwid said, crossing her deeply brown paws and resting her chin on the bright yellow floof. "I think he would understand." "I know he would, but..." "But your mother," Diwid nodded carefully. "Perhaps some day she will see the truth." Zuri uttered an often repeated prayer blessing, just in case anyone here on Twoarth was listening. Not that she thought they would be able to impact her mother on another entire dimension, but maybe. They were gods after all. It wasn't a god that had delivered little Diwid to her, but it sometimes seemed that way. Her patience and wisdom were matched only by her expertise in the show and performance ring! But back on the ground, rather than her head in the spiritual clouds, Zuri collected her wits and started heading to Wonder's Wonders. It didn't hurt that her parents still lived in England and it was still, in fact, nearly night time there and day time where she was! She had a class to work with, and Diwid dawdled long enough for Zuri to give a whistle. The Zalor were both already bouncing with energy and ready to see who all had their flitters or four-footed friends. It was as much a 'pet training' class as an acrobatic magic-use one! With magic to aid more professional performances ranging from a 'rain of sand' to an ice wall that melts from heat cast by Kali, the trio of pet-sized critters currently led the students in learning how to set up and use a 'ring of fire' which first meant 'not being afraid to get near it'... |
