Specialties - Art! Author of "The Illustrated Adventures of Melora and Nabib", a magical comic book very popular among young witches and wizards. It's an ongoing thing, there are about 24 of these books so far, with dozens more plotted out.
Likes: art, music, creative things, the internet (can't live without it, even in the magical world), all things magical and fun - including watching her son try to take over the world, which she considers 'charming', tattoos (she has several which are magically animated), warm weather
Dislikes: stupidity - ignorance, racism (including against Muggles in general), cold weather (she really - really - hates living where it snows)
Personality: outgoing, friendly, helpful and creative. Kate is a typical California native. Her magical talents surfaced when a young child, but were repressed until teenhood. Though there aren't many schools in the USA, she did manage to get to one and flesh out her education, which is mainly Muggle-type. She is clever with illustrations and far smarter than her demeanor indicates - hence why Benjamin found her interesting in the first place.

Weaknesses - Kate's pretty focused on her art and stories, perhaps too much so. To the point of obsession, perhaps in her down time - she researches and files and procures anecdotes from people around the world, which she incorporates into her stories. She is also not a tremendously powerful mage, far from it. Being muggleborn and largely ignorant of magic for the formative years of her life has left her without a lot of the resources that other mages have.
While her magical education isn't nearly as strong as her husband's, she is able to take on conversations with his peers (right along with her sons), and often unnerves the fuddyduddies at his meetings by showing up in a revealing outfit - showing off her tattoos.

Animagus Information: Kate has a limited ability to transform into "something". It appears to be a combination of horse, cheetah and falcon. No one sees her this way except Ben, and he seems to like it. (edit: she is actually not the same triptych as Rita, sorry - she is a winged sphynx, a lion-bodied falcon-winged one)
