"They once roamed the World's seas unchallenged. Then they nearly vanished, before... my reign. But now, they sing from the Void as easily as they swim through the abyss."

Name: (incoherently loud sounds only a whale or dragon might know mean anything)

Gender/Preference: Currently one male (shown left) and one female (on right)

Age/DOB: Unknown, adults, female slightly older

Faction: Void, Leviathan

Family: each other

Height/Build: whales, obviously, quite large...

Hair: none

Eyes: black

Appearance: whales, with some amount of scarring and blood stains from decades of floating through the World's oceans and being hunted

Skills and Occupation: Guardians of the Ritual Hold's contents... yes, he's still there, but he's not always still there

Residence: While they have a presence among normally found water-dwelling whales, a select few (usually three, there is at least one more scooting around who is unrelated to these) are somehow elected to move through the Void and remain in vigil for the Outsider, the young god... 'young', yes, since their god's eye is the only thing left of the distant past power they used to hold. The Ritual Hold fluctuates between the World and the Void, and they can move between them easily

Notable Possessions: they possess nothing, but they could easily claim great trenches and distant beaches, as well as the Ritual Hold's shattered black stone slabs

Magical Preferences or Abilities: though some humans believe whales to be mere animals, they have always been sacred and highly magical. Their ancient god, one placed as a conduit to the Void's impossible power perhaps ten million years prior, still watches, though with humans scurrying around its fossilized eye. These whales effortlessly move between space and time, the Void, the Outside, and any given ocean that could support their size. This pair have visited the depths of the North Sea where Rapture rests, and even watched a bit of that Checkerboard Ball ... thing. Quite intrigued. Any human however would know that their oil, at least that which comes from a specific gland in their bodies, is extremely volatile and had been in use across the human Isles as a power supply. This gland does have the capability to revive a dying being, and aids them in their interdimensional travel, but also probably has a great many other uses or abilities. Any creature or person with the ability to detect magic or psionic energy will see it beating within their body brightly, glowing a brilliant cyan.

Personality: only other whales or dragons who can understand their speech - or some rare humans or others who pay attention - could truly detect the differences in personality between these two. The male is gentle, cautious, and observant. The female is slightly more bold and curious, though not always willing to be the first to go somewhere or introduce the pod

Likes and Dislikes: they would love to visit more worlds, and enjoy looking over other creatures that are known as 'whales' since they differ a bit here and there

Fears or Interruptions: they would not like to be hunted, always a danger on the World... They also worried that Leviathan Shindaerey, the little human Outsider, would have been killed, but thankfully he was spared that fate, and their relationship to both the World as well as the Void did not have to change again

History: They were born near the Pandyssian continent, and spent quite a while exploring but when their elders called to them some decades ago, they were sent to the Ritual Hold. They could return to the waters of the World, but whenever they did, they'd lost another member of their family, one by one harvested by the human Whalers, slaughtered for their oil and meat. Until now, they had retreated fully to the Hold, but then a woman with an arm made of the Void and a portion of their own great god's eye grafted to her own came there. Things had transpired out in the World, and more particularly on the human lands beyond the sea. Levi assured the whales that he was fine - he wasn't going anywhere, at least not for long. Once that happened, something like three or four years ago, they've felt confident enough to once more brave the World's oceans as well as those jaunts through time and space.

But they are lonely, even with their third, he's young and distracted by the spirits of the humans who linger in the Void. Who might they bring back here, who can follow them from one World's oceans to another?

*** translated from whalesong

< Where did it come from? >

< I do not know, ask it. >

They did ask, and heard a sound that they'd hardly experienced here in the Void, that of a sharp breath, erupting through the surface of water. It took a moment, as the pair of whales pondered this, before they both realized that this was his name, and that he'd conveyed quite a bit more through their magical mental link.

He was right about the same length as these leviathans, at this time anyway, but oh-so slender, like a hagfish, like an eel in ways. Except, of course, for the wings. His arms were like a gull's, sharp and pointed, but long, suitable for long gliding on unpredictable ocean winds. Or, they surmised, for terrific propulsion under the water.

< Come with us, > the female suggested, < come to the World, if only for a bit, I want to see you swim! >

The dragon, a species they'd not encountered yet (though the had encountered dragons, their little human charge had his own!) slipped around between the whales, almost hiding against their colors, almost entirely grey as the Void itself. But they knew where to look, they knew how to find him, and would never lose track.

Even when they entered the World, the ocean - the depths, the cold and oppressive depths - was their home and easily shown to be his as well. Though it took a moment, the chill of the Void exchanged for the chill of the deep water, soon Phwargh was looping circles around their tails, and dodging between their flippers.

< Lively little thing, > the male proclaimed. < He is already finding something to eat. Best get down there before something eats him... >
