Name: Ceasar Pandia

Gender/Preference: Male, he/him; quite bisexual and if anyone does express interest he will still be wary until proven safe for his wares

Age/DOB: 24 in 1855; 13th day, Month of Songs (13th of 13th 1831...)

Faction: Independent, Black Market Shop Keeper

Family: Mother's family likely from Pandyssia, father's father was actively able to use magic, both parents alive and living comfortably in Saggunto; has a cousin who runs a shop similar to his in Saggunto

Height/Build: 6'1" / Slender and long limbed, tall and elegant, poses well and has had at least one artist pay for him to stand for figure drawing classes

Hair: dark orange-red, heavy and thick, but somewhat stiff, to his mid-back and usually kept in a tail as shown

Eyes: very dark brown, narrow, under thin but expressive brows

Appearance: dark brown skin, evenly shaded with few scars and no obvious flaws (save for a good number of reasonably healed cat-claw marks...); has a broad flat nose, and thick usually-pursed lips; wears comfortable but stylish clothing in greys, dusty blues, charcoal, and gold as shown; his voice is clear and confident, and he can let loose with quite a few sailors' expressions as well as converse casually with philosophers or witches alike

"He truly wishes he could follow in his grandfather's footsteps - except that last one."

Skills and Occupation: Collector of unusual goods; well known to be a friend of all who shop... unless he catches you stealing. Will tentatively strike up conversations with those who express interest in the bonecharms and Runes that come through his shop, and has a ‘special' collection of items available if he gets to trusting them. Highly literate, curious, and able to manage his shop with care and style. He's a shrewd businessman thanks to years of living on the streets and docks, avoiding any other kind of work

Residence: Campo Seta Dockyards, this shop is quite easily found right by the dock, with the stink of whale blood and fish guts blowing through so he keeps the shutters tight. The shop is hardly guarded, but not always easy to get into given he likes to slide locks shut depending on the time of day. He does business for specific needs customers (such as witches, heretics, sailors, or whoever else ‘unsavory' according to the Abbey) at only very particular times of day. So if his main door is shut at noon, unless you're looking for a bonecharm or spell written on a slip of old newsprint, don't bother knocking. His shop is filled with curios and items that would likely get any other man executed by the Abbey, however its proximity to the docks means that very few Overseers bother with it. If they had to arrest every sailor or fisherman that came through with weird bones on them... Ceasar's home is located directly above, in a nicely furnished but very crowded-with-stuff suite. He doesn't mind the smell of the salt air coming in there as it's far enough above the street not to be tainted, and often has those windows cracked (but barred from invasion), so that the fresher air can breeze through his shop's vents. There are dozens of heretical items in his apartment, let alone his shop. Just get on his good side first if you want to peruse them. The cat that lives with him sometimes serves as a warning signal, growling at the sight of Overseers or running to hide from gang members.

Notable Possessions: He has a shop, and a home, simply brimming with stuff. Come look! If you've got coin, that is. Pandia's Pandyssian Products is open by appointment!

Magical Preferences or Abilities: Not Marked, but from a family that he claims had been in the past. Whether he knows for sure if his grandfather bore the Mark, or if it's merely family rumor, who knows - but the fact remains that he is absolutely brilliant at decoding magical script and understanding the point behind spells written thus. He is not foolish enough to beg for audience with the Outsider, but he has a shrine tucked into the third story of the building, behind some crates, just in case. He can select ‘good' bonecharms from ‘corrupt' ones, and if you get on that rarely-seen bad side he will absolutely pawn those corrupt ones off on you...

Personality: He is charming and youthful, the kind of man that might otherwise run a bar and listen to woes while serving expertly mixed drinks. Ceasar has never been one to boast or to be very foolish, he knows that the moment he leaves the Docks spouting anything about magic or the Void he'd be shot on sight; he's anything but dumb in that regard, and part of his ‘vetting' process for those he sells items to reflect that intelligence. He can tell a tourist from a fugitive by their footsteps outside his shop's door

Likes and Dislikes: loves to imagine magic, and has seen it actively being worked just enough times to know that those stories his dad told him about his own father must be true. Likes to listen to the chatter from the dock workers, through the wall next to his shop, and can ‘mysteriously' know about things thought private thanks to his keen ear. Dislikes bartering, he sets a price and he expects that price, but he will grudgingly work deals if absolutely needed to please a customer who has more coin than good sense. They'll be back with more.

Fears or Interruptions: He definitely hates the Abbey, because for all the fanciful things told about his grandfather - he died at their hand, a bad death by burning alive. He'd burn the Abbey to the ground if he could, but he's not about to act on anything of the sort. He does have a lingering fear about them breaking into his shop or home, and it's a real fear every time a new ship load of them comes from the north

History: Born and raised in the area, though his mother's side of the family likely hails from Pandyssia given his appearance. He and his cousin both run shops, the cousin winding up in Saggunto. He can easily be called a ‘nerd' because he's hardly ever wanted to do anything other than look at relics and dusty books. Any book in his shop has been read cover to cover, he's detail oriented and makes sure of the quality of any goods before putting them up for sale. He sort of wishes that the cat in the shop would also take care of bloodflies and rats, but he just will not do it...
