Magical Skills or Profession: Aruduk is not just a harpy born to the wind and sky, with masterful flight capability, but has more modern gifs that he's learned to use as a superhero when he's in cities. -- Winged Flight is not his only method of transportation, but it is his favorite. He is superb in the air and can fly for nearly a full day without tiring, and can carry even very large items or heavy weights in his taloned feet for up to 100 miles at a good speed. Aruduk is capable of flight in basically any weather condition including deep fog, heavy snow and hail, rain and sleet, as well as bone-dry desert winds. His weather sense helps him do all of that on a subconscious level -- Electrical Teleportation, as a child of the storms, Aruduk is capable of 'riding' electrical energy such as from lightning or even power lines provided it has sufficient connection from one place to another. He safely rests on live wires and then vanishes to 'wherever they go', within about 150 miles if it's rural and well connected, but can also move from room to room if the electrical lines in a building are well made. If they're not well made, .... he can figure out where they fail, right? If there is a bolt of lightning that strikes within 250 meters of him, he will temporarily vanish and come back usually somewhere in mid-air far above, having been transported accidentally whoops! -- Storm Sense and Minor Weather Manipulation, within 10 miles Aruduk senses the complex weather conditions such as pressure, wind patterns, temperature, and humidity. To a much more limited area, under 2km with himself at the center, he can gently nudge the conditions to produce or reduce any given weather going on temporarily. He has been known to accidentally start a tornado here and there, because the surrounding conditions don't follow his commands, and winds and heat will do what they do best -- Lightning Creation and Electric Damage Defense, he takes no damage from those incidents of holding power lines or being hit by lightning, and in fact these things envigorate him to a large degree. He can store up power for around a week, before needing to let it loose either by charging batteries or generators, or with a huge bolt of energy. He can direct the energy if the conditions are right, so with a little nudge from his weather controls he could provide the perfect strike point for a lightning bolt - this is something that he's been told is 'what the gods do' and he's rather proud of that fact -- Bioelectric Sense, while he is not capable of manipulating the electrical energy found in living things (aside from 'frying it with lightning') he can still sense the presence of biological entities that have electrical impulses up to 500 meters for a larger creature, and up close he can distinguish things as small as mice and moles. He can however disrupt insect senses that involve any electrical field, but does this without realizing it, until the swarm of wasps come around angry with him again... |

| Personality: Though a touch on the vain and full-of-himself side, Aruduk is at his heart a hero. He has his reasons for this, since Furside in beautiful Mesopotamia evolved considerably differently than on skin-side, he has always felt like he 'belonged' to the Skin folk a little more because of their fanciful tales of gods and heroes. The fact that those gods and some heroes are still around gives him both hope and a little bit of pause, because what if he can't live up to those expectations of heroism? He does enjoy being told he's done well, but also likes occasionally stirring shit up, after all that's kind of a storm-god thing in almost any culture's mythology | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Events or History: The harpy population on Furside Twoarth is modest but has been around for a very long time. Co-evolving with the Skin-side harpies, those on the furry side of the planet actually dominated the area along side some of the shedu and other 'mythological' creatures that faded into the distant past on Skinside. However, both realms are connected with the ancient gods - they are the same ones on Fur and Skinside. As such, there is a strong connection to those godlings and deities that still reside in the world. Awoken more recently (within 3 generations anyway) are some that wound up instructing at Carramba High... Ninhursag does keep her watchful eye on any given high-powered being like him. And she seems impressed with not only his abilities, but his conscious awareness of the history of the odd world they live on. Aruduk is a rarity in that he does display many strong abilities. His family aren't known for this, and didn't really know what to do with him until Ninhursag herself connected with the family and brought him to Skinside for training and education in more modern things. While he wasn't necessarily a student at CHS, he attended some classes and was tutored in others, so he has a good general idea of the Skinside world, but still prefers Furside. (he likes to zap his furry friends because they poof up hahah it's okay it isn't permanent) When an odd storm appeared in the mountains where he has decided to center his nest, he had no choice in the matter - he was zapped away and came back with an impressive friend! |

| The pair of dragon and harpy train and practice with some of the 'heroics' and 'godling' types on a regular basis over Skinside at Carramba High. However they don't live there, and roost in the Misty Moon Mountains with the other odd deer and weathery-types. Aruduk feels like this gets him that much closer to the skies! And it's true! They don't pester the deer dragons, and will never hesitate to help them out if needed, particularly with clearing up - or creating - storms so they can do whatever it is they do! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
