Racial Oddities: While she isn't from Dragondeep she absolutely does suit the breed and fits in. However her background, information, and knowledge, as well as spell casting in her specific manner mark her as an outsider. Also she will not live nearly as long as the local Griffs, but she doesn't know that yet. Her appearance would typically mean specific psionic elementalism if she was a local, but she has no psionic power

Family: her parents may have a whole pride now, but they had left theirs and started a family first, in one of the cities that offer more interesting activities. They had been from disparate prides and didn't know one another before pairing up, but it's obvious that they enjoyed work as well as play in a more densely packed area, so there will surely be others with her blood out there on Elessad. Whether there will be more here on Dragondeep... there's a question...

Origin/Current Location: born on Elessad; currently resides on the Gelgelan Eminence, however has plans for making a library and research school on the Never-Ending Grotto because 'boy they need this!'

Fur/Plumage: copper colored, with various shades of brilliant yellow and molten brass, orange, and brown as above

Eyes: Green

Appearance: As above, her feline portions are narrow and lean, and she's quite neck-fluffy but you know that's mostly feathers... Kenv'el has the scent of musk and rust about her, but prefers to spend enough time working in the stacks of books that she adopts a little of that leathery must instead. Her feathers are exceptionally pretty in the sun, but as a librarian and researcher she hardly really goes out to show that off. Her bird head resembles a falcon, with very large ears and tufts, and a sparse but tall and proud crest. She has a strong command over her voice, 'it's a library' keeping it quiet when needed but 'she's a gryphon' loud when outside. As a verbal spellcaster she must enunciate correctly, though here on Dragondeep apparently it's very bad form - possibly even illegal? - to perform such magic as a Griff... Well it's a good thing she's not from here? Besides, she came with a dragon that absolutely does not 'belong' on this world according to the local dragons, so keeping her spellcasting up is the least of her concerns.

Skills and Profession: Raised among humans and other beings, dragons, and plenty of all of that but in a setting where there are so many ruins and ancient history, she chooses history. Her skill set is mostly 'reading and finding new things to read' but also 'digging out stuff from the ruins', so she isn't lacking in physical skills for such a thing. If you get her started among her peers, she will go on endlessly about this document or that ancient site, but normally she just observes and sort of keeps to herself. While she does know that there are more knowledgeable people here and there, on Dragondeep she is enamored of the idea that she could pass as a regular Griff here and learn simply everything. As long as she remembers not to cast spells. And that people don't go digging into 'what psionic is your coloration for' because that's not how her breed works... Either way, she loves reading, decoding ancient scripts, appreciating ancient architecture and art, and even planning a library for those poor folks on their tiny little island Grotto.

Possessions: Arriving from Elessad with a fair amount of her own books and research materials, she and Step Lightly have been given their own space in the Gelgelan Eminence and whatever they need to put down roots if they want. Suitable housing for a Gryphon like herself seems to differ a little from the locals, she's used to the marble halls and walking around the stacks, streets and city life, so she was wondering 'where is my apartment'. But then ... She does need to also remember Step Lightly requires space and his own preferred bedding and creature comforts. They are still reasonably new here, so they don't have a lot to put on the nicely crafted shelving or trophy tables, but they have those things.

When they were introduced to the Grotto folk, Kenv'el knew instantly she had to do something about their atrocious research and library situation - they didn't have a library. They had a couple shops, and even a printing press and news center, but no collected location for their varied histories or important memories? Well, she'll be changing that! With their own local people doing most of the physical work, a 'dragon-sized library' is being erected there, and she will fill it if it kills her.

Personality: Intelligent and charismatic, Kenv'el loves books and history. She is not particularly outgoing, but she doesn't mind being around people if it means she has access to the subjects she is interested in.
History: Given her interests, it is unsurprising that Kenv'el wound up working in a library. She is a second-generation city-dweller, her parents having both separately moving into the city after leaving their previous prides behind. How she was selected for a dragon pairing is a mystery only she knows now, though if anyone cares to dig through her own written material she did document it extensively... sigh, no one ever reads her own history... But history is not the only thing she's interested in. She will diplomatically and carefully get information from the people around her, and with that form a better understanding of their current locations. She does know that Dragondeep's history is very different but also in many ways so similar to Elessad. But ... whenever they bring up 'the Gods' here, it is with such derision and spite that she's wondering... perhaps she should take a trip to one of those big blasted islands or even this 'Forbidden Mountain'? It's forbidden to locals, right? Surely not everyone is local...

As a hatchling and young dragonet, Step Lightly proved to be quite the hand... paw-full for his bond. But he made sure to give her good reason to appreciate his willingness to help discover study material, digging and moving stones in ruins even as small as he was.

As an adult dragon, Step Lightly loves scouting out places to work, and also has a good head on his neck because he knows better than to fly too far into the local Dragondeep land mass or too close to their breeding waters. Most of the locals breed on the southern side of their very long continent, but plenty wind up on the north waters and skies. He can't teleport but it doesn't matter - he is fast on the wing and won't hesitate to pretend to be a 'fallen log' or 'lump of clay' on the ground if one of them flies too near them overland.

Physical/Breed Features: Scaled as shown, retractable claws on 4 pawed feet, two large scaled wings with 3 clawed fingers and wrist thumb; two back-pointing and one nose horn on head, flexible quills on spine (doesn't need to worry about Kenv'el riding him obviously); belly armor; spaded tail
Colors: Orange, almost matching his copper colored bond, with darker and more vibrant rust orange on belly armor, and creamy tan on wings
Abilities: Winged Flight; truly loves flight, but complex maneuvers and over difficult areas rather than just cruising around on updrafts! Since he can keep up with Kenv'el (or cause her to try and keep up with him) and they are effectively able to coordinate in the air with calls and commands between them, they are an unstoppable flight team! He can fly through a dusty area or an autumn field and not disturb a dust mote or lift a leaf off the ground
Verbal Speech; though speaking with a 'draconic mouth' lisp or hiss, Step Lightly is clever and pays a lot of attention to what is being said around him, eventually conveying what he learns in private, but also sometimes adding his own snide commentary
Unassisted Firebreath; he is very careful to keep his fire away from any scrolls, clothing, gear and goods, or houses that are nearby because it's very hot. He can quick fry fish or small animal carcasses by tossing it into the air and blowing on it, but likewise if something gets into that breath area it will dry out and crackle if it's there too long
Magic Resistance; wings and all, spells or magical effects cast by mages or triggers simply bounce right off of his scales and fizzle. This is incredibly important to his breed but could also be of use with somehow protecting wider areas if they can figure out how to make it not a curse and more an effect...
