Alohadan stood casually waiting for a serving of soup, when the call went out that the hatching at Vegliante Cove was starting. Purple Azeriss' clutch was breaking open!

The dredlocked young man went to the side of the cove beach, where it was lapped by the slight waves in the cove. They had barely been together for a few minutes, when the first of the hatchlings shattered his shell. He was a very large aqua colored male, and he had what looked like a big grin on his muzzle.

"Haha!" he yelled, "Alohadan! I see you!"

When Alohadan realized that in fact the dragon had spoken to him, fresh out of the shell, he staggered through the fine sand toward the Aqua.

Then, he stopped when the dragon began making noise and flapping his limbs and tail. "People! Lots of people! People - I want to meet your friends when I graduate." That was made clear by the loving image that the dragon projected into Alohadan's mind.

"Um, yeah..." Alohadan said, "that was ... random... uh," he searched for the name, but the dragon came up with it first.

"Paipaiess! I'm Paipaiess. Now let's get out of here. Food... eat... let's eat!"

Obviously this dragonet wasn't the most sane to have hatched at the cove, but he sure was big, and exictable.

"We'll see them, I hope they bond soon too." They went and enjoyed their meals together.

Alohadan and Paipaiess took lessons from the swimmers and bigger members of the pod. Paipai was going to be a rather... large dragon. Everyone could tell. Especially Alohadan.

"You'd best slow down on that gorging you're doing," he warned, "or else you'll just wind up floating, all bloated. You won't be able to swim properly!"

"That is why I have big strong muscles!" Paipaiess insisted, and his tail thrashed a big ripple of water at Alohadan. "And besides, you'll be weighing me down too!"

"Oh thanks a lot," Alohadan muttered with the sound of the other fledgling swimmers around him. Alohadan noticed that Paipaiess' neck ridge was starting to come in, he'd look grand when he was grown up! If he wasn't all pudgy...

"You've got the best crest and the biggest tail, Pai!" Laughed Alohadan. They were in the warm cove waters and watched as females swam by (of both dragon and human form) admiring their masculinity.

I really am a lovely dragon, yes. Paipaiess said gleefully and then erupted from the waters onto shore. He was a bit ungainly on land, but he managed to look adept enough to warrant a few more glances from the adult females.

"Well thank goodness you know you're fine," Alohadan smirked, and wondered what had become of his friends...
