... Paired at Drockh-Tallahn

Name: Viddin

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Height: 5'5"

Build: slender, not very muscular save for his shoulders and chest which are well used to pulling a bow

Appearance: peaches and cream with a plethora of freckles along his face and upper body/arms, which grow quite visible when he gets a sunburn (which is often). His hair is a very soft, extremely pale platinum blond, and falls to his mid-back in straight lines. He often keeps a barrette or two on hand, preferring them to ties as he doesn't like how they pull on his scalp. His eyes are darkly brown and wide. He uniformly wears green shaded clothing, and generally looks quite sharp in them - if a bit girly because of his hair.

Origin: Castle Born, and word around the place is that Almiron is actually his father. Where else would that hair and easily-burned skin come from, certainly not Dainves. Viddin's mother Ingi has maintained silence on the matter for Viddin's entire life, and it's unlikely she'll admit to having an affair - unless of course the Prince wills it.

Viddin was a small boy, and would never likely be the burly man that his father wanted him to be. Dainves considered this son of 'his' to be an anomaly and of little use to his family trade. As masons went, there on the plains, Dainves had his work cut out for him anway. His son had sharp eyes, and a good sense of distance, and that was his saving grace.

His ability to spot movement along the endless plains, among the short trees or in the skies earned Viddin praise from many, though rarely from his own father. At the age of eight, Viddin was given his first bow, and though many of his agemates played with them for fun, he took it more seriously. He has a very steady hand, and can maintain a ready pose for long periods without tiring.

In contests of accuracy, there might be a few better than this young white-haired lad but more often than not he hits his targets well enough to be placed on the short list for Castle employment. He's not a show off, either, to him his skill with the bow is simply 'what he likes to do' and 'what he's good at'. Viddin is also a bit of a fashion hound, though he has not come from a rich enough family that he could really 'dress up' the way some do. He simply likes to look good, and always prefers his green shaded clothing no matter what fabrics or substances they're made from. He enjoys soft leathers and even the rare Drak-hair woven cloths that are available in Castles.

It didn't surprise anyone that a Judge picked up on this boy early on. But that was when he was quite young, now it's more serious and time to bring him to a Castle with eggs in their deep caverns. Viddin is a patient boy who knows that he might not pair a Drak, but if he does, that will at least be something to be proud of. He knows that shooting from a Drak's back will be challgenging, but he's looking forward to the chance.

*** (from the hatching)

Panduri came bursting out of the Deep Caverns, followed by a pile of draklings climbing over each other to meet the aspirants. "Hi there, hello, welcome, pleased to meet you. Here are my babies!" Panduri stood proudly by her offspring, and greetings to the aspirants finished, let the draklings come forward.
The first one was a rather round Mud drakling; he had a serious and determined look on his face, but he waited patiently until he recieved a nod from his mother, signalling it was his turn. Still solemn, he stepped towards the aspirants and met with Viddin . "I like you. I think we can do grrrreat thingssss togetherrr: Corrina and Viddin!"
