Aayztaj and Aventeve

Though there were two humans attending the Dawn Castle pairing event, and three Draks, they both walked away with a mind-pair - and Aayztaj had felt the inkling that he would be the first of the 'bachelor' group to do so as well.

When the dam of this nest looked around, saw the group assembled and felt the draklings under her protective wings, she announced that they should choose wisely - and then simply flapped away to take a dive in the ocean nearby. Did that bode well? Or was she simply confident enough in their potential choices that she didn't care to stand around watching?

Apparently they were fine with it, however. The lovely white with green, a Wind variant that would be called 'Tempest' by the record keepers, came straight from under her mother's rainbow wings and up to the blackest of dark draks. Even stodgy Zolpardu had to admit that she was adorable and confident.

"You are the one I choose. But your group is the one I'll join. My name is Aventeve."

Aayztaj was quite happy with this turn of events, nuzzling his new partner. He did feel her mind more strongly than other draks, but not as well as his sibling's.

They headed off to 'knight training' after enjoying a feast with the others, though their chosen trainers were another pair of Draks! Xaverwy actually flew up from the beach when she noticed the dam of the recently-announced nest had abandoned her cavern post...

And while her typical duties included 'sunbathing' and 'occasionally reporting back to the High Prince or someone of importance, this time it included helping to get this lovely little Tempest to learn how to cooperatively fly with her chosen pair!

It wasn't hard, but it also wasn't quick. But they did have examples in the form of Iiaztaj and Zolpardu up there, and Turazqi's participation as Xaverwy's flight partner.

They cut quite the impressive swath over the beaches at Dawn Castle, at least until Aventeve was old enough to learn to Portal, and they all headed off with the unpaired to another Castle!
