Kalthe was and is a very exacting type of person. His frustration at having the bad penmanship he shows however, is countered by the fact that lots of people in his line of work have much worse. There is never a sick weyrling while he's on watch - he makes sure to inspect weyrs and barracks, keeps parasites at a minimum, and insists that everyone understand that the health of one dragon affects those around them. He's heard terrible things about plagues, diseases and sicknesses that sweep through weyrs, and this terrifies him.

His stunning but small sized brown Pruppath is just as much of a stickler to detail as his rider, and often helps spot dangerous situations, giving K'he the heads up before others can make more of a mess.
