This is the page where Flights, Clutches, and Hatchings will be recorded - these include only those dragons hatched here, and given out by Shard on the Nexus if giveaways occur.

Albion Inferno Weyr
Flight and Hatching Sands
Info and Rules

Because this Weyr exists on an alternate Pern with added Eldritch complications, the rules for standing as well as clutching (here or elsewhere) are slightly different from a normal Pernese weyr. The 'complications' are of a rather weird and horror-based genre. If you are not okay with some amount of weird, be warned. You can still send candidates here expecting 'regular Pern' if you wish! They don't have to have a weird dragon.

1 - Candidates may be sent from any location; however UNTIL SPECIFIC NOTICE* and this rule changes - if they are nonhuman, they must have some form of disguise which changes their appearance to match normal human. Glamours might not work as well as you want, or show the wrong features... Psionics may backfire. Physical disguises such as 'shaving all the hair' or 'stealth technology' are fine. The first generation locals are all effectively unaware of the weird shit going on around them let alone out among the other dimensions. As time goes by they will adjust and begin accepting non-humans to the sands, though for the first few let's just say 'don't send dragons to this' as they won't bond and may in fact be in danger from locals... Albion only has on-EPern search riders available, so how your non-E or Nexus characters get here is entirely up to you. They will also not provide an exit strategy - if you're returning to 'whatever other world' they must have transportation. *This is mainly because I don't have eldritch art yet. Once that happens or 2nd generation dragons show up, anything goes.

2 - Aside from that above, anything goes. Gender, identity, (human-like/presenting) appearance, abilities, pronouns, or dimensionality of origin - all qualify as a candidate. If you do not want your candidate to impress a specific type (off-gender pairing, a specific rank dragon, etc) you must specify it, not just hint. Likewise if you want them to impress a specific thing, and it's backed up by their personality traits or abilities/experiences, please suggest it - but do be aware that unless that rank is available in the clutch, they may need to be bumped to one that has it. You may specify 'when this is available' for higher ranks or rares.

3 - Candidates should be kept concise, with a clear idea of their personality available. Stat Sheets are 100% welcome; please make any stories focused on their arrival or flashbacks to important things, but nothing more than a few pages, thanks. Since personality traits dictate their pairing anything else is nice but not required. If they aren't from EPern please make it clear where they are from and where they are intending to go. If you need nudges for inspiration, head over to the Random Generator! The questions on it were originally created by Digitalis/Kitsuneko for the Whiterock Weyr, and I've added bits to them to flesh it out a little. If you use the generator please do make a little effort to flesh them out or make the results make sense (I know I have to often enough!).

3A - Those candidates who Impress on Albion's sands are not required to remain here. During their stay they will be expected to either pass testing proving that they already know 'enough' about dragons to raise them back where they're headed, or to attend classes for riding, tack and gear, 'anatomy' (....), and the like as typical of any Weyr. They should expect to remain with their hatchling dragonet for at least a full month, to make sure that they are in fact suited to the duties, and to allow the hatchling to become strong enough to be taken between safely. Remember please that this is EPern and between is a much scarier place closer to this world than traditional Pern. Even your normal riders will notice this on arrival.

3B - Candidates do need to be on the internet, on a site which can only be edited by the owner of it (but can include forum posts which can be commented on by others; or a doc somewhere like google, but I prefer those to be clearly attached to a dragonry so I don't forget where they will wind up going...); dragon images must only be placed on pages that cannot be edited by anyone but their new owner. Images may be resized however you like, layered into other images with riders, etc, please credit me though and a link must be present on all of these pages.

4 - Dragons that hatch from Albion Inferno's sands appear in their 'friendly' form to any dragon rider, and if taken off EPern that appearance will 'lock'. However they may still have hidden abilities which continue to function, any dragon that has something worth mentioning will have information to go with those traits. Dragons can be requested to have a 'scary' form (and items appropriate to its appearance to make it worth the bother), this will be in addition to the normal version. Dragons hatched at Albion may be sent anywhere you like, any breeding restrictions are found below.

All Hatched Here:

Dragons born here generally reflect the overall size of their parents. Dragons that fly and clutch here without a size listed on their page will be considered 'typical for this rank' as the chart shows. They will come with specific information about their potential personality, their flight preferences (may be modified), their Thread fighting performance (whether on or off EPern - might change if it's 'just regular old Thread'), and other odd information. If this info conflicts with needs, inform me immediately, though it's always best to have a candidate prepared for the weird here, and sent in with specific requests/dealbreakers instead of retroactive requests.

Dragons given out will be either 1 image (as shown below), or 2 images - the 'friendly' and the 'horrific' with additional features visible only to those whose minds aren't clouded by the 'protective' energy of a bond. Again, the very first generation of these dragons given out only have their basic art. I do prefer that the dragons be paged before sending more candidates, but I know not everyone has easy and quick ability to update.

Dragons hatched here come in the standard Pernese range of colors: Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green; with added Black, Purple and Red, and White ranks being slightly more common than a fully traditional Weyr. The original founders dragons have unusually colorful lineages. This, combined with the fact that their location on EPern seems... unusually familiar, Albion appears to allow these odder colors to arise with more frequency. If your riders will be needing only standard Pernese ranks, specifically state that you do not want rare ones. Black and White will generally be 'melanistic/albino' excused as being either Bronze/Brown or Green/Blue; Black is large, while Whites are small. Red and Purple ranks are slightly larger than Blue/Greens and they may come in male or female varieties (Red rarely female, Purple rarely male).

Flight Information

Specific to Albion dragons:

If Albion dragons are bred ON an EPern site, their Eldritch traits will continue strong as ever and may increase in weirdness generation by generation.

If they are bred off of EPern (again with specific possible caveats) their physical shape and mental prowess / abilities will revert to “typical” Pernese dragons and within one non-EPern breeding generation those traits will be lost along with their excessive weird mental traits. (So if an Albion dragon lives off-Pern somewhere without Eldritch influence, their offspring with another normal dragon will be normal, period.)

Those who have unusual colors or patterns may retain those traits as they were originally found among the core relocated to this realm and are not outside the realm of Normal Pernese anyway. Alskyran color schemes would come easily to these if bred to them, as would Alskyran physical traits such as horns.

Use your best judgement as to whether they should continue to spawn weird bits or be oddly not-right if they wind up breeding to other Eldritch-born Pernese descendants (they might crop up!) even if they're not born on EPern. This would be entirely up to the artist or the Weyr they breed at. They would certainly be more likely to produce oddities if EPernese pairings occur.

Non-Albion-Born Dragon flights hatching at Albion:

Dragons that are from non-EPern locales will only come with unusual traits if the riders' owner wants them to, otherwise they would act as ‘newcomer' first-generation and not be ‘tainted' by the weirdness. (If you want your dragon images to be Albion lines they can be without being super weird!) Anything hatched here will be on the artwork shown above as a basic outline.

Dragons that ARE from Eldritch Pern hatching sands will all come with a list of unusual traits which are hidden by their 'friendly' appearance. If the dragons are bred off EPern whether their traits continue is up to the owner of those sands. Some specific traits may wind up being more common than others (when I have Albion Traits they will be shown as a sub-set of art above).
