Ferilon Candidates for Dragons! Stats | Story | Dragon |
|
Thoihra was the first to choose and the first to return. The smallish (but still big compared to the bipedal Ferilon) blue dragonet was nervous and wanted to hide. "Come on, Airakogaku," Thoihra coaxed him out from the shelter of the transportation dragon's wing. They had to rely upon Vanya's friends to take them back and forth, and Thoihra decided that if the dragon was to defend their territory with him in the air, he had to knwo that territory instead of growing up with the tribes at Planet Twenty. The blue's nose stuck out from under a wingsail and finally he walked out. Unsteady, and unsure about how bright it was. "I know, it's too light out. We can head to this one cave, you'll like it. It's where I sometimes go when I want to be alone." He paused, took the dragonet's nose in his hands, and said, "But I'm not alone, and you won't be either. Not any more." Aira pressed his muzzle into the ferilon's paw hands, and they made their way up to a hidden cavern. It let out in several places across their territory, and the largest nook was where it overlooked a beautiful glade. It would be large enough for an adult dragon, the ferilons were dwarfed by this cave's entrance. Thoihra would remain with the little blue, helping find food and bringing him water to drink, while he grew. As the dragonet's confidence rose, he began to follow Thoihra outside, sniffing at trees and bushes, and being surprised by the brook that went through their glade. He nosed into it, then sprang back out. All under the three beautiful moons of Zekira. |

Airakogaku bellowed his anger, "why can't I go?" Thoihra sighed, and tried to comfort the growing dragonet, "because you're not able to fly yet. You can watch from the ledge, and get some tips on--" "I can fly just fine!" He flapped his still-growing wings, producing more than enough wind to knock the small Ferilon onto his back. "See! I am strong!" Changing tactics, to try and prove to the dragon that time was as important as patience, Thoihra got up and dusted himself off, and said "all right, then, let's go!" He rose into the air, flapping his multiple wings gracefully. Thoihra drifted up to the treetops, and then began to dodge between their big trunks. "Well, come on," he taunted. The blue adolescent dragon nosed into the air, and started flapping as hard as he could. Though he had power in his muscles, he had little style, so when he did lift off the ground it was to bash his head into the nearest branch. Thoihra resisted the urge to laugh, he knew that was coming. "Why didn't you warn me that was there?" The dragon demanded. "Because you should have been aware of it in the first place!" Thoihra said, "now if you don't mind I'm going to lure another one of those things in here, and you can kill it if you want. They're too big for me." The dragon muttered a bit about how annoying it was to have a rider-bond that couldn't even drag a proper carcass into view, instead he had to kill things all by himself. He wasn't old enough to deal death, what was Thoihra thinking? "Probably that if you're whining about not being old enough to kill things, Aira, you're not old enough to fly out over the valley with me het." With that sting, Airakogaku lowered his head and settled his wings down. "You're.... right. Mean - but right..." Thoihra flew through the forest and went down to where a pack of large snub-nosed animals had rooted a nest. They were unwelcome as far as Thoihra was concerned, but they'd be good food items for the dragons when the others got theirs back here. And where were they anyway? He was still alone, though he told Aira stories about them and he wanted to meet the others. The little tribe of Ferilons would be needing a big territory for feeding their dragons, and of course the dragons couldn't hunt properly until they were more grown up... Such was life. |

Airakogaku waited for the other dragons patiently. Thoihra was less patient by the day. "Where are they?" He demanded, and the blue dragon had no answer for him. Eventually, of course, they would come. But for now, he chewed on whatever scraps he hunted up, and practiced flying with Aira. ((more story coming soon)) (( not really sorry, whoops)) |
